Allan .... Katrose has spent many, many hours hosting an excellant 'Live' music room on the Paltalk site. Although not a total folky herself , she welcomed us and encouraged us when the Mudcat Room wasn't open or available. Her commitment to music (of all forms) is greater than most.

Thank you very much musicman for starting this thread to welcome me to Mudcat Cafe! Thank each of you who have welcomed me, I feel among friends already. Your comments were very warm and kind.

Regarding introducing myself:
I play the 12 string guitar and live in Houston, Texas. I taught myself when I was 15, because we lost our guitarist in my church youth choir. I am originally from Brownsville (Kris Kristofferson's hometown) and went to Matamoros (across the river) to get a ten dollar guitar to teach myself. A year later I bought my 12 string and it is my only guitar for the last 28 years.

I only started singing for myself two years ago when I started at PalTalk. I have written songs and each is actually I suppose folk/pop/rock .... with the emphasis on FOLK. I finally classified myself! I have been learning Mary Black and Kate Rusby lately. I will be involved some way in the Kerrville Folk Festival, and I have been invited to the Cambridge Folk Festival in July as well.

I have started a cd and a website.. to be finished by April.
