Come on everyone what you doing this weekend, I thought I would do something I have never done before, I'm going to have a wonderful time with excellent company relaxing and enjoying life. Wont matter what the weather is like either.

Normally people get so hot under the collar if the weather is bad at the weekend, why? just dress the part and enjoy yourselves, you won't ever get that piece of time again, once it gone that it, so make it a weekend to remember, I will.

Have a Brilliant weekend everyone

I plan to take a set of bedsprings and a rocking chair and some clothing to the thrift shop. Then I plan to go to the library and then wash my jacket to send back to Land's End. At some point in the weekend I shall need consolation because I have a computer problem and no one to consult with..I have to install Norton Antivirus because I just have nothing but shareware virus scans..but I now wonder if I have the RAM it requires. Then I shall go to church and on Sunday I shall wash clothes. No lack of fun here.. mg

Sewing. Possibly driving 100 miles for a fitting and back again.... No doubt there will be screaming at Bratling and a mammoth pile of ironing.

1 dress down, 2 more and a suit to go....

Well it's Australia Day this Sunday, so we're having an all day BBQ. Got about 50 friends coming and going during the course of the day, most of them muso's so it should be a great day all round. By the way, If you're reading this "Longneck" I lost your phone number, but feel free to call anytime from 1pm on. BYOG, BYOM, BYOI.

Cheers

Had a good practice session tonight... everyone there on time, and we started learning some new songs. Going to a sale at Sam Ash music store on Saturday and then singing at church on Sunday, trying out a new song. We'll be singing the next four weekends, so this will be a welcome chance to catch my breath..

Got all of them but the last, Bugsy. BYOI??:-)

Maybe go listen to some pickers at a bagel shop during the day, clean house, call some friends and family, play on the computer, do laundry, clean house some more, go for a ride.

The weather's been great...60 in the shade the other day; we're in the banana belt of Colorado!

Saturday, got a foster home gig in the morning and an Alzheimer's residence gig at 5 PM. In between, I'll be jamming and singing with the folks at Artichoke Music in Portland, OR. Paperwork and housework in the odd hours in between.

Sunday, the "Seventh Principle" Action Group at our U-U Church is presenting the "Green Sanctuary" program to the church, in addition to regular services. Then I'll rehearse with the choir at another U-U Church in the afternoon (trying to ignore the Super Bowl) and sing with them at 4:00 PM. Then pack for a trip to Seattle on Monday.

Other planned activities:
- walk/workout (climb up and down the kids' playground structures in the park near my house and maybe do laps in the pool)
- call friends and family on my free cellular minutes
- pet cat

How's that for excitement?

Genie

I would normally be hosting a singers weekend for 100+ singers from all over the country. Unfortunately, venue problems meant I had to cancel this years event. Roll on 2004

Instead, I am going out for a quiet belated birthday lunch with a neighbour........ via the local market , so at least a spot of retail therapy is on the cards.

A wassail tonight in the Forest of Dean, then spending Sunday in Stratford-upon-Avon with several members of our shanty group. Overall, I guess quite a bit of talking, drinking and singing!

Kat sez this:
Got all of them but the last, Bugsy. BYOI??:-)
but i say i din't get any of them--bring your own what??
G ? M ? I ?
Guitar? Mandolin? Instruments?
Grass? Mescaline? Ichiban?
well hope you have a good barbeque whatever it all means...
I played at a pub while the band, who are my neighbors,
took a break, then again when they needed to change a broken
string or two...
Tomorrow i will go hear Kate Campbell in concert in
Carson City, Nevada. May go to al hot springs on the
way home. Anywhere away from the super bowl.

my daughter is home so we will be doing a little retail therapy too, and seeing some friends tonight....I had planned on updating my web page and doing some ironing but as the top has gone missing from my mouse finger ( see erm...whoops? thread) that may have to wait.

Working both days, but Saturday night I've got my usual non-paying music job. Warning: advertisement for myself coming up - If you're not doing anything and have RealAudio on your computer, you can hear me - go to www.wdvrfm.org and follow the directions for listening - the show is called Heartlands Hayride and is on 6 to 8 PM (New Jersey time). I'll be the only clawhammer banjoist on the show.

BYOG is defintely bring your own grog, sometimes abbreviated to BYO, & I assume M=music, & I=instruments. My fiddler friend has invited me to bring my instrument to his 50th birthday next week! And I don't play, nor do I drink grog, but a great time will be had.

As previously noted it is the Australia Day weekend here, & as I inadvertantly left most of my money at work (silly me) & don't have an ATM card (old-fashioned me), I won't be doing much. I could borrow some money from my neighbour, but really don't need to as the weekend will be too hot to go about.

Today as is usual on a Saturday I had brekkie with friends, then did not meet my doll & bear making friends for the first meeting of the year (due to lack of money), instead I read books & listened to CDs. I have enough money for the Sunday papers (gotta read my comics), & will spend the rest of the day buying fruit & veg & doing the washing.

I had already planned to keep inside cos we are expecting very hot weather (more bushfirs reported today). Normally I go to a Celtic celebration on Aust. Day & swelter so I decided I wouldn't due to the weather.

I'll also make a present for the 50th birthday & read more books.

sandra

Number one is stay warm. -19C again this morning. Aussie Open, of course. I couldn't stay up that late last night so I taped the third set of the William's Final, which I will watch after tea. Looking forward to the Men's Final and to collecting a large sum of money when Andre beats the crap out of whassisname. Then there's cleaning and childproofing the house for the biggest North American sporting event of the year. The Superbowl starts at 19:20h Sunday. The lads will arrive at 15:00h for the pregame warmup : beer, fried partridge, beer, BBQ deer steak, beer, bottled moose, beer, fried trout, beer...
