Celanova Square is an older Calico album (but it may be on re-release?). They released a second album Songdogs a couple of years ago.

Both are well worth a listen.

I accessed this thread enthusiastically, as I like Calico's music, and hadn't heard of them making a CD - and found it's a different band altogether. The Calico that I know are based in Leigh, Lancashire, and have been together under that name for twenty-odd years. I wonder if they know their name has been plagiarised?...

Got the free CD it's very very good but no info whatsoever about the musicians or even a tune list, both would have been good.

Musicians are Diarmuid Moynihan (Uileann Pipes) Donncha Moynihan (Guitar) Tola Custy (Fiddle) and Pat Marsh (Bozouki). Deirdre Moynihan also now plays fiddle and sings with Calico, but I have a notion that she wasn't on the first album. John Moloney may also play bodhran on some tracks (He is certainly on their other album SongDogs). The album was produced by Declan Sinnot who may also contribute musically. The Moynihan family come from Cork and Pat Tola and John are all from Clare and live in Ennis. Many of the tunes are originals, composed by Diarmuid, I'm fairly sure that this info is all available on the Sleeve notes of the CD I have, but it may have been re-packaged for re-release.

Thanks very much, got my CD this week. have listened several times over. Played it to Skipjack on Wednesday evening as we drove to the session. Bloody excellent. Any chance of a track listing? There are some brilliant tunes there. Must get more!
