Anyone know anything about this guitarist from the Bedfordshire area of England?

George Norris is a little specky bloke who now lives (I've been told ) in Cambridgeshire. He was at one time a member of Magna Carta but is a fine solo singer. I did his first publicity umpty years ago when I was doing missionary work down sowf.

George used to be a regular at Bedford, but doesn't turn up very often at all now. (I think he found out about girls!) He's a very fine guitarist, and has a good voice too. He's accompanied Hilary Spencer live and on CD.

Originally hails from Lake in the Isle of Wight ... not a lot of people know that.

Can anyone give him a lift to his gig in St Albans tomorrow, Friday 31st Jan at the Comfort hotel then? on Holywell Hill,doors open 7.44.
I think he is one of the areas under-rated performers, thats why I'm looking forwrd to hearing him tomorrow.

Hope the snow clears before tomorrow so I can come to St Albans. It definitely isn't a good idea to be on the roads round here tonight, they're treacherous!!!! And there are some very silly people out there....

I took 2 1/2 hours to get back from Harrow, went to Redborn and it was off,drove clockwise up and back thru St Albans, no hold-ups but it was choked going the opposite way.
Poor buggers.
We will watch for the weather tomorrow afternoon and evening.
If its to be suspended then I'll put it here.
Can anyone give the frog a lift on the 7th then?

Not as bad as it looks from Bricket Wood then Will talk to George at 1.00, he's optimistic, I'm listenining to 3 counties radio.As long as we've no more snow we could be o k but dont expect a big crowd.
I very much want to hear George as I like his taste in songs as I hope you will too.

If any one has definate (upto the minute) news on this it might be useful as I heard that it had been cancelled (if that was just george not making it or the whole thing I am unsure) Three counties radio plugged it on monday afternoon but the snow may be a contributing factor Cllr

George will appear again later in the year.
The evening will go ahead with a full programme of artists including the one and only Mike Sparks m.b.e.-of 'Reach for the Gin' and '13 Florins on the bar' fame, plus many other satircal songs to his credit.
Come if its localish but put safety first.

I was nearly in a shanty group with Mike Sparks ( he of Herga fame) but nothing ever came of it.Cllr PS hope the evening went well Bedford FC only had 4 people turn up on Thursday!

It was a very high calibre evening
Sparks was brilliant with his 'Gin' and 'The Anti-Shanty Song'
Guru was amazing.
