There was a group recording in the 70's two of the songs were Fisherman and La Paloma Blanca. Anyone know who they were?

I guess the group is the "George Baker Selection," but I'd swear I've never heard of them. Click here for the lyrics to "Una Paloma Blanca." Click here for their discography. Click here for their unofficial home page.
Well, I gotta admit, they were better than ABBA.

But for the true flavor of "una Paloma" you need to rummage around and find old Saturday Night Live videos from the ealry 80's on which Eddie Murphy does his memorable "Buck Wheat Sings" sketch. It's a classic.

Just a note- George Baker is Dutch and The George Baker Selection is (was?) his group; he composed "(Una) Paloma Blanca," which is unrelated to the old song "La Paloma Blanca."
