Subject: Patrick Wren, Co. Clare concertina pl. From: Peter Kasin Date: 01 Feb 03 - 12:07 AM On my recent trip to Ireland, I heard a brilliant young Concertina player named Patrick Wren. He plays with great technical skill and with plenty of soul. If any 'catters are planning a trip to Ireland and are seeking traditional Irish music in Clare and Galway, I'd suggest dropping in at Tis Coili and The Crane pubs in Galway city (where I heard him), and Custy's music store in Ennis, Co. Clare, and find out when he's playing. He's going to be a dangerous name in Irish music! Chanteyranger |

He was a member of a group called Turas who made a great CD about 5 years ago when they were all still in their teens. He plays with another band now, but I can't remember what they're called. I'll come back if I can think of it. |
