Eh up Saddleworth Fest. has a great lineup this year, Eric Bogle, Waterson Carthy, and the great Old Rope String Band, who were brill a coupla years back, to name just three. This is the sixth one and it gets better every year (in my 'umble opinion). So who's goin? and i'll sithee there, in the campsite food tent singaround (if not waterlogged again!) or the con club late night singaround, or last neet in the Cross Keys or anywhere.

Taraaar!

Hi Vince

I'll be there singing with the Shellback Chorus and I hope to helping to lead a concert singalong of "Songs you learnt at school". It promises to be a great festival!   But let's hope we won't get too much of the "liquid sunshine" Saddleworth is famous for!

I don't know what you're all talking about - Saddleworth is God's country, and the sun shines on the righteous - I don't remember getting wet last year!!

Thanks Vince for posting this - I owe you a drink (Or nine!!)

We're pushing the boat out this year, and wanted it to be even better than our others (I specially wanted that as this will be my last Festival!)

In case it doesn't mention some events on the website, this year should be worth visiting for the War of the Roses (it's hilarious!), the Singing Together workshop (with Alan, Noreen, Firm Friends, me and Geoff), and our very 1st Hiring Fair.

Won't be long now, will it?

Ali

Sorry, Ali!! Maybe I was thinking of most of the Rushcarts I've been to over the last ten years ... but that's in August, of course ...!

Hi Sal - they get everywhere, don't they?

It would be good to see you in Saddleworth. Perhaps you can order the sun for us?

Ali

That must be because you had your waders on all weeknnd, Ali dear...!
*grin*

Can you post a contour map of the campsite this year, please? Think the Moor & Coast chaps would be pleased to see that too!

Looking forward to this tremendously, as ever.

Hi Alio,

Last festival? Oh eck, that's a bit frightening - saddleworth without you at the helm (no offence t'rest o committee, but i'm sure they'll agree!). Hope you change your mind, but if not thanks for all yuv done from one satisfied patron!!..Hope you'll leave it in safe hands.
I'm sure you'll be still attending tho. Singing t'gether w/shop sounds good......could do with some tips and firm friends are quit brill. Sithee there!!

Alio - this is not your last fastival - that was last year!!
This year is the first year of your new run - I wish you'd learn that!!
She didnt get wet cos she was glued to the festival office seat last year!!
I still have those two original singing together music books from my school days ( They were reprinted from Geoffs days at school!)

Jim please remember Saddleworth is a very quiet festival - its a tea total venue - no rowdy singing everyone in bed by 9.00 pm Moor and Coast Tent has optional Rowing courses on Sunday mornings most residents wouldnt appreciate THOSE trousers

Noreen I wish you'd keep this lot in line!!

Cant remember the words to Saddleworthshire but looking forward to the festival anyway Ali

am I right in saying John Prentice is organising a "Hiring Fair" at Saddleworth. If it is anything like the one he does at Whitby is should not be missed. There are usualy some great acts on show. Some have been around for a while and others who are just starting out.
I think more festivals should do it.
