Subject: S Albans Folk Club Friday Feb 7th From: Bullfrog Jones Date: 06 Feb 03 - 04:28 AM Thrill to the heartbreaking harmonies of Dark Horse this Friday Feb 7th at St Albans Folk Club. Songs to make strong men weep into their beer and stories to make beautiful women laugh up their sleeves! From Country to Folk to Old-timey and back again via torch songs and jazz! Some quotes about Dark Horse: "Everything we wish we were (except there's only two, and one of them's a bloke)" The Be Good Tanyas "We hope we get to be that old someday" Nickel Creek "Who?" John Breeze If you miss this chance to see them you'll kick yourself -- so come to St Albans and let Dark Horse give you a kick instead! BJ |

Subject: RE: S Albans Folk Club Friday Feb 7th From: breezy Date: 06 Feb 03 - 05:49 AM At The Comfort Hotel on Holywell Hill Non-smoking-crisp-crunching-mobile-phone-ringing-walking-talking-folk-club. Coming soon before Easter: Marilyn Middleton, Andy Irvine. After Easter: Coope, Boyes and Simpson, Harvey Andrews, Derek Brimstone, Keith Donnelly The list goes on, well I didnt start it did I? Bullfrog really does have some very good songs to sing, he's a better than average singer-songwriter, in fact, quite a few people would like to include one or two of his songs in their repertoire. Highly recommended, and its good to see they are getting out of Stoney for a change. Very high calibre of residents. Floor spots limited and by prior arrangement only due to the popularity of the club. PM 4 more. But come for DARK HORSE this Friday 7th Jan 03 |
