We had a wonderful evening on Saturday - and raised about £400 for the Peto Andras Institute.

Thank you all the musicians in the Band: Ted (Melodeon), Derek (Mandola & Banjo), John (Fiddle), Rick (Bass), Pete (Accordian), and of course our caller Alan Austen. Thanks also to "Slattery" for providing a song break.

And of course a big THANK YOU to all the people who bought tickets.
We were sorry that we were unable to fit in a few more song spots, but you were all so keen to get up and dance that we just didn't have the time.

We've still got plenty of tickets to sell - they will be available on the door.

The band is steadily growing - Ted will be leading on Melodeon plus Derek (Mandola - please not the Banjo), Me (Guitar), Rick (String Bass), John (Fiddle), Linda (various percussion and shaky things).

Children (free admission) will be welcome - any who are too misbehaved might be sold into slavery though.

It promises to be a fun evening - hope to see you there.

Whoops - forgot to give the time - 8pm to 11pm - try and be puctual we want to fit a lot into three hours. We're hoping to be there at about 6.30 to set up, if anyone else wants to get there early - we'll be pleased to see you.

You can find a map of East Peckham HERE - the club is in The Freehold just behind the "Merry Boys" PH which is just above the red cross shown on the map.

Linda

While tickets will be on sale at the door, we would prefer to sell as many as possible in advance. The money is going to a worthwhile charity - the band and caller are not getting paid and we're supplying the buffet ourselves. We have already sold tickets to several people who probably won't be able to make it - there will be a raffle prize drawn on ticket number so please buy tickets. The number of tickets sold will also help us to estimate the quantity of food that we will need.

It should be a great evening - come along and enjoy yourselves.

We'll be there, wife's work permitting. There will be tickets on the door, I assume? If not, I'll contact you when we know for sure.

We should have a good bash. Any reasonably experienced dancers would be very welcome to help the rest of us out. If anyone would like any leaflets, tickets etc. just phone or PM me.

Have you cross posted to eCeilidh? You would really wind S---- H----- up by suggesting that song spots would make it a "proper" ceilidh.

Yes - there should be plenty of others, including Linda's son of 13+ (and her grandchildren !).
We weren't expecting to charge for under 16s, but any contributions to the charity would be welcome.

Linda (Essex Girl) and I are organising a Charity Ceilidh at The Social Club, East Peckham, Kent, on Saturday 22nd February. This is just off the A26 between Tonbridge and Maidstone - near the Hop Farm at Beltring. The band will be Barleycorn + Friends and the caller will be Alan Austen. We hope to make it a proper ceilidh with plenty of song and music as well as dancing.

Admission is £5 which includes a buffet - the club has a licensed bar.

All proceeds will go to the "Peto Andras Institute for Conductive Education" who provide help for children with motor disabilities.
Linda's grandson, Toby who suffers from a mild form of Cerebral Palsy, is receiving help from them and we thought that this would be a suitable way of showing our thanks.

For tickets or further details ring 020 8857 1024 (evenings or w/e) or PM me or Essex Girl.
