I echo my co-host's comments.   We really appreciate the support - both your financial donations and the wonderful comments.   It is good to know that some people are listening!!! Thank you all!

Ron

I often listen to Traditions and I can say that the music I hear is superior to the stuff found on comercial radio. This program is one of a few in a vast market that plays the music of folkies and delivers mini documentaries about the music and musicians and/or folks devoted to folk music. I know Ron and Bill are volunteers and produce their programs at personal expense because of their commitment. Traditions has the potential to reach millions of listeners but no dobut has a much smaller audience. It deserves to be supported. During yesterday's fundraiser, they played a spot of Brittany Spear's music. It was intended to be a mockery of the genre. I had a viseral reaction leading me to make a pledge so that my listening choices weren't reduced. Hey, send them a sawbuck or maybe a few. We have a collective responsibility to support the music we love.

Ellen

I don't know about the internet pledges---I am not privy to that at tnis point. But---our call ins were great.

Loyal listeners and new ones too. So, to them---thanks.

The web---if you did pledge---thanks. Unfortunately I don't at this point have access to the on line material yet. But if you did---thanks. If not===well--no thanks.

Programs like this stay on the air provided they pull their weight and come up with comparible figures to the ones that do---and I can tell you right now that Gospel, Singer/ Songwriter and Bluegrass do.

Our web address is above(in the prvious e mail) and the fundraiser continues for only one more week. Then we shall see where we stand in relation to staying in our slot. Or is it niche?.

You may be aware--or you may not--that we are in the middle of our very shortened fund raising month. I know that many of you have tuned in to our program---the program that Ron Olesko and I co- produce and host.
I will be the first to say that there is variety in the things that Ron and I do. Hopefully, you enjoy both---and that some of you like some of the programming more than the other.

However---that said-- We urge you to pledge on line at
www.wfdu.fm

It is a secure pledge, but please mention which program it is for.

I plan to have some wonderful guests in the coming weeks and months--Lisa Moscatiello (who will blow you away) for one---Ron, too, has some great guests and specials planned. Frank Hamilton among many others.

The bottom line is---to keep this kind of programming on the air and on the web---===we need you. Please pledge on line at the above address---or of you are in our area please call between 3-6 PM ET on Sunday and I will be happy to talk with you and take your pledge and your thoughts.

Our basic membership is $50.00---but please pledge whatever you feel you can afford and what is appropriate.

I thank you for your support.
