Thanks for the kind word lads.

Dan Milner is a joy to work with, a great writer, concise, clear and invariably funny.

As for the length of the articles,we always have too many to print each month, from the day I took control I wanted the balance of articles to be interviews with musicians, the folks making the music, and that is what you get in each issue.

Just finished the July issue, full steam ahead for August when we will have a chat with Paddy Moloney.

Dervish and Danu in the July mag by the way.

And our own Liam's Brother aka Dan Milner is a regular contributor.

All the best,

Mick

It is a good mag - obviously a publication of refined taste and superior collective intellect; they gave THE SOUL OF A WANDERER a very nice review last Fall!

I wrote my first article for this magazine this year, and I was really pleased to do so. I was fortunate enough to have to write enough words for a double page spread, but yes I could have written more. As the group I interviewed had loads more to say. But I had a word count to write up to and no more than that if I could.

But I'd recommend the mag, (not because I'm biased) but it's always been a really good read. Plus there's loads of information about gigs and such. They have a section about UK gigs, USA gigs and Ireland gigs too.

As for the site, it's a good advert for the magazine, and yes, it has it's plus points. If you want to know what's on for sessions in Ireland, I've usually found it helpful to check out on the section on the site before I go back to Ireland. There are some good links to sites that give you information about instruments too. And, if too much was put onto the website, no one would want to subscribe/buy the mag then would they! A very clever selling tactic methinks.

Regards

Ella

I don't see much content there, to be honest. Unless I was unable to find them, there aren't any online articles, just about 10-15 reviews, plus a list of sessions and festivals. If you want to buy the magazine, it's a good Irish Music site. Otherwise, what's there?

The magazine, by the way, is good. The main criticism I have generally had in the past is that their articles are short, and it's hard to really get enough out of the interviewee in so little space. But it's definitely a useful resource.

BTW, Gotta love a magazine with the following disclaimer:

"We are not responsible for any errors on these pages."

Who is, then?
