It's "old" in the sense of "if it were a person it could vote" but I haven't seen anything to indicate it wasn't written by McLean.

If you read the previous thread you will see that it is indeed not written by McLean - and is about 75 years old.

Sorry MMario, I guess I'm being dense, but I just read thread 1165 and didn't see any such reference. I also followed a link there to a DM fan site, which similarly credited the song to McLean, so, a little more handholding is apparently necessary. Who wrote it?
