Subject: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: Bobert Date: 09 Feb 03 - 01:19 PM Move over, Rolls-Royce, the new dog is moving in! Yep, Daimier-Chrysler is now taking orders for its new Mayback 57's and 62's. These cars ar big and bad. The 62 stands for 6.2 meters (a full foot longer than Ford's monster SUV, the Excursion)in length and weighing in at 7450 pounds makes this the monster of all luxary cars. Equiped with a 550 horsepower V-12 engine this sled will get to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds! Jsst open that rear door and take a look. All custom leather and wood interiors with two huge recliner seats, two television screens, a Bose engineered 21 speeker surround-sound system and an "electro-transparent panoramic roof that adjusts from clear to fully opaque". Need to make a call? No problem with two built in cell phones Running a little late? No problem. With a top speed of 155 mph you'll make that gig with time to spare. And the true beauty of the Mayback is it's price. A mere $350,000. Heck, that would be a bargain at half that... So, which Catter will be the first to step up and place a personalized order? Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: SINSULL Date: 09 Feb 03 - 01:26 PM It is just about time for the Japanese to step in and offer compact cars while Detroit churns out these gas guzzlers. Then the government will have to "save' the bankrupt US automobile industry from itself. Deja vu all over again. As to the American public: "Those who cannot learn from history are forced to re-live it". Sigh - another monster terrorizing my poor little Escort on her daily trudge to work. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: CarolC Date: 09 Feb 03 - 01:34 PM I'm still having too much fun with the used Subaru Forester we picked up recently. It's the most fun (and practical) car I've ever driven. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: Bobert Date: 09 Feb 03 - 01:39 PM CarolC: Oh, I forgot. The 62 Mayback comes with a Forester in the trunk, just in case one needs to do a little off roading or going to a neigborhood where the big boy might be politically *incorrect*. Okay, I lied about that part. BTW, nice choice! Great little wagon and priced right. Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: CarolC Date: 09 Feb 03 - 01:58 PM Oh, I forgot. The 62 Mayback comes with a Forester in the trunk hahahahahaha... BTW, nice choice! Great little wagon and priced right. Thanks. My extremely intelligent and capable hubby gets full credit for that one (although I think he was looking for something I would like based on what he knows about me). He even got it for about $2,000 below its blue book value. He's a genious at buying cars. |

"Waymore Bling" "Waymore Guzzle" "Waymore Speed" "Waymore Power" "Waymore Pretense" "Waymore Sheetmetal"... |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: gnu Date: 09 Feb 03 - 02:50 PM Yeees maid ! I never met a Newf who couldn't charm a deal. However, if you guys visit Fundy Park here in The Picture Province on your way to The Rock this summer, don't stray outside the park boundaries too far. The park is located in Albert County. Their anthem is "Sweet Home Albert County", aka, Alabama. If left unattended on a back road, a Japanese car can spontaneously combust all to heck. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: CarolC Date: 09 Feb 03 - 03:13 PM Thanks for the heads up, gnu. If we do the "backwoods" thing, we'll take the Cougar. ;-) |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: gnu Date: 09 Feb 03 - 03:22 PM Naw... we'll take my hulkin', extended cab, air conditioned, Triton V8, 4X4 pickup with the 770 pound (dry) full time 4X4 Bombardier Traxter in the box. (Actually, it's not "in" the box. It's too long for the box, so I've got a custom fold up ramp that I chain up at an angle.) The locals wouldn't dare f*** with that. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: gnu Date: 09 Feb 03 - 03:24 PM I meant, I would offer to show you guys the sights of the backwoods, if you have time. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: gnu Date: 09 Feb 03 - 04:01 PM Perhaps I should explain... my "SUV" is actually a work truck. I need a truck for my equipment and ladders and I need an extended cab for clients. I could have gotten a smaller engine, but in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, you take what's on the lot or you order one. If you order one, your stuck with whatever piece of crap gets delivered because the quality control for Ford trucks is only number one (as the ad goes) if it's built for general sale, apparently. My last truck, which was a custom order, was a lemon from day one - one problem after another. So you choose from the stock on the lot... hence AC and V8 in my case. But I do like it. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: gnu Date: 09 Feb 03 - 04:37 PM Ooops. Did I kill this thread ? Sorry. Been a long cold week. The snow on my front lawn is over six feet deep where I've been piling it from the driveway. The ice buildup in the driveway and the street is over six inches deep. I did a home inspection this morning where I had to wade through the snow waist deep. I guess I'm just in too deep. I'm really not that cynical or snide... honest. |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: Bobert Date: 09 Feb 03 - 09:40 PM J the S: Yeah, now Caddie has definately been up to some strange stuff. They are now working on a V-12, the first since the 1930's which will make a cool 1000 horsepower! And with normal aspiration! Too much. I'd like to have me one of them engines to stick in the fron of my 1975 Dodge M-880 Army truch so I could pull wheelies in the McDonald's parking lot! (Ignore this man...) Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: For the Catter who has everything else. From: CarolC Date: 09 Feb 03 - 09:46 PM Sounds good to me, gnu. Btw, why do cowboys wear hats with the brims curled up on the sides? ...so they can fit three in a pickup ;-) |
