When I lived in Oakland,California,Ronald Reagan was governor from 1966 until 1974. There was a song? that I heard on the radio that was a Black preacher doing a call and response sermon, but instead of praising Jesus, he and the congregation were calling down curses on " th' guvnah" Like an elaborate form of the dozens/ Each time he got to the end of a phrase, he's start again "Whoooah, if that ain't bad enough for the guvnah" and then he'd go off again
" Let him be in an accident.ah! With a gasoline truck and match wagon,ah!" Building his cadence and pitch in the gospel tradition.
Very funny, can't find it but I know I didn't hallucinate this. Or did I?

Yes, it was a song sung in the south about the govoror of Alabama I believe. I heard it in the early '70s I'm looking for it now.

In the end, he sings: if that ain't bad enough for the gugnuh, oh lord let him be black like me.
