Subject: Lyr Req: One Sunday Night From: balladeer Date: 10 Feb 03 - 12:05 AM Hi,everyone: You are so good with these things,I always look here first. I can't find my Grit Laskin A Few Simple Words album. I'm sure it will turn up, but in the meantime I'd be grateful if someone would post the words and a few simple chords for One Sunday Night. Thanks. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: One Sunday Night From: balladeer Date: 10 Feb 03 - 10:02 AM Gee, almost ten hours have gone by and the lyric has not yet appeared. I guess I've been spoiled by past Mudcat experiences of my questions being answered within an hour - and sometimes on fairly obscure subjects. Like the time someone found me a set of words via a dead site. That was a definite high point. And just a few weeks ago, I posted a request after midnight and got the (correct) response at three AM. I love how there's always someone awake and online and willing to go to the trouble here at the Mudcat. Thanks for that. |

Maybe this will jog someone's memory... ...in the city of light When our laughter was free and easy. Oh, I now understand that each squiggle and square Has a genius' reasons for why it is there. Subject: Lyr Add: ONE SUNDAY NIGHT (Grit Laskin) From: Jim Dixon Date: 14 Jan 12 - 02:38 AM ONE SUNDAY NIGHT As sung by Grit Laskin on "A Few Simple Words" (2000) 1. Oh, the gardens of Giverny were a beauteous thing And Monet's cool lilies made my heart sing But though his impressions would try as they might They paled to my own on that Sunday night CHORUS: One Sunday night in the City of Light When our laughter was free and easy. 2. Oh, I now understand that each squiggle and square Has a genius's reasons for why it is there Sure the art of Picasso has beauty all right. It couldn't match yours on that Sunday night. 3. Ah, we saw the sunflowers that captured Van Gogh With colours made livid by the bright Provence glow Their yellows were burning with stolen sunlight And still you shone brighter on that Sunday night 4. Now we saw Eiffel's tower light up the dark sky We let Haussmann's opera bedazzle our eye Though we'd ageless beauty to our left and our right It faded around us on that Sunday night |
