Subject: BS: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Helen Date: 10 Feb 03 - 05:47 AM Hi all, After some delays and computer frustrations, the 2003 Mudcat calendar is finally available. And I think it is worth the wait, because it has lovely photos of Max & Emily's beautiful Mudkitten, Lily Ani, born on 28 January. As well as these lovely photos commemorating this "royal" Mudcat birth, we have some guessing competitions, with photos of Mudcatters in their younger days, and also a couple of "Guess this song" pages. I'm not exactly sure of how this works, but I think - I may be wrong, it has been known to happen! - that the process is that you send your payment to Mudcat and then someone notifies me that you have paid, and I will e-mail you the PDF file, i.e. Adobe Acrobat file. If you don't currently have Acrobat on your computer then I will tell you where you can find a free, downloadable copy. Helen [Still apologising about the lateness of the calendar's creation] |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Helen Date: 10 Feb 03 - 06:27 AM Hi Dave, Here is the info page for last year's calendar. I'm not sure what the arrangement is for Brit-Cats and Oz-Cats for sending the money. Max *was* recommending the use of PayPal, but I don't know if that is still the "go" or whether there is another alternative. I also think that there was someone prepared to collect money from BritCats and then forward it for one of the other Mudcat pieces of merchandise, e.g. embroidered patches or something. 2003 Calendar Helen |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: smallpiper Date: 10 Feb 03 - 07:03 AM Bill\sables is the man for collecting uk money (I believe - someone will orrect me if I'm wrong). How much for a calendar then? |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: bill\sables Date: 10 Feb 03 - 10:51 AM Over the past 2 years I have put the Mudcat calendar on CD along with a copy of the latest Digitrad and sold them for £10 (all money to mudcat)We are allowed to sell the calendar but not the Digitrad so if you order one you are buying the calendar and getting a copy of the digitrad free. Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 13 Feb 03 - 07:32 AM Bill, have you got your copy of the calendar yet ? If so can yo remind me where to send the money to. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Swan Date: 19 Feb 03 - 05:54 PM I've received my calendar. If you skip over May, it's quite a smart publication. With respect to the "Guess Who?" pages, I've got a couple of fair ideas, but here's the one that's killing me. Is that Big Mick as a child in the nun's habit in July? Seriously. I think Mickus Maximus may have a past none of us had dreamt of. Helen, when can we expect the answers to who is what tune and who is who? Thanks for your hard work Helen. The calendar is lots of fun. Everyone should support the 'cat by buying one. Don't miss Miss January. What a babe. D |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Helen Date: 19 Feb 03 - 06:13 PM Ah El Swanno, You want the answers before most people have seen the questions? Patience is a virtue, especially for humans who are Swans, or is that Swans who are human. Helen |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 20 Feb 03 - 04:19 AM Did Helen manage to fit in the "Guess the Tune/Song" nearly nude piccies that Essex Girl and Myself ? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: katlaughing Date: 20 Feb 03 - 04:24 AM Thanks for doing this, this year, Helen. I'll be phoning in my order, later today. I like the sound of the guessing game! Should be fun. kat |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: katlaughing Date: 21 Feb 03 - 12:22 AM Looks great, Helen! Thanks for doing this; nice layout. I was surprised to see clothes and youngster pix, but really enjoy them, as well as the others. What a bold wench Ms. August is! I know that red hair!**BG** This guessing is going to be fun! Thanks, too, to Jeff. kat |

Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: wysiwyg Date: 21 Feb 03 - 10:04 AM Helen, thanks for stepping up to take this on! Will you be doing the one for next year too? What deadlines would you like to suggest, now that you have seen how it all goes? ~Susan |

Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: katlaughing Date: 21 Feb 03 - 06:14 PM Helen, if the calendar had been any earlier we wouldn't have had the pleasure of LilliAni as Ms. January! Your timing was perfect! Thanks, again, kat |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 24 Feb 03 - 06:40 AM Bill Sables - have you got a copy to sell to us UK catters yet ? Katlaughing, as I'm still waiting to be able to get my copy over here, is the Ms August "Essex Girl" - it sounds like it might be. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Helen Date: 25 Feb 03 - 01:11 AM My computer has been acting up so I sent this post in on Saturday but it ain't here now. ****** At this stage there is a bit of a hiccup in the delivery process for the UK CD's which Bill Sables is offering. He is having a problem opening the PDF file which NicoleC so kindly created from my MsPublisher file. I have no idea what the problem is and we are e-mailing each other to try to figure out a solution. If any of you have any ideas of a way around the problem, feel free to offer some suggestions. ~Susan, I may be foolhardy enough to volunteer again this year. I think that getting the calendar pix sent by early-November would make it fairly easy to meet the deadline, allowing for collating the pix, making decisions of what to use where, and then the actual design work, and not forgetting the announcements that the calendar is available, and then sending them out (A thousand thanks to Pene Azul and Bill Sables). (Remember that I did take it on last year after alison couldn't do it, but I also went on holidays for a month and the logistics of orgainising that straight after finalising an exceptionally busy teaching load, interfered with the calendar deadline. If I had known earlier that I was doing it I could probably have re-organised my commitments a bit better.) Dave Bryant, yes I used your pix. Helen |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: GUEST,Zany Mouse Date: 25 Feb 03 - 06:25 PM Can the 2004 calender be like the Ambridge WI calender please? (UK catters will know what I mean!!!!) ZM |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: CarolC Date: 25 Feb 03 - 07:02 PM But the rest of us don't. What do you mean, Zany Mouse? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 03 Mar 03 - 10:17 AM Zany Mouse, Is this the Archers' Male Nude Calendar which Jennifer Aldridge photographed ? |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 20 Mar 03 - 10:42 AM Bill Sables has sent me a copy of the PDF file, which I've had no problems opening with Acrobat Reader v5.0. The Calendar doesn't mention that the Lady for August is Essex Girl, and it is Irish Tune which she is depicting not a song. My picture for June depicts a song, a version of which is in the DT. |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: mooman Date: 20 Mar 03 - 10:44 AM Would that tune be ****Y ****R by any chance Dave! moo |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Helen Date: 20 Mar 03 - 11:05 PM Dave, As I understand it, Essex Girl's musical depiction is a song but is more well known as a tune. Somewhere I have a copy of the Gaelic words to the tune. Remember, oh guessing folk, to translate your thoughts into the appropriate language when trying to decipher the name of the music. Helen |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: katlaughing Date: 21 Mar 03 - 12:34 AM Well if Essex Girl's was more "think US-ish," I'd say it's a sure bet for the Doors' Light my fire! **BG** |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: Dave Bryant Date: 21 Mar 03 - 05:01 AM I think Mooman's worked it out. Anyone worked out my one yet ? - OK, I know that that I'm not as much fun to look at as Essex Girl. I know the answer to the one from Micca & Cats - the cat is quite familiar... |
Subject: RE: Mudcat calendar is finally available From: rich-joy Date: 13 Aug 04 - 06:18 AM Is a 2005 MudCat Calendar on the cards??!! Cheers! R-J |
