It is time to start the process of preparing my son for college applications. Are there any Mudcatters in the Spokane area or alums of EWU? We are considering a trip to Spokane to check out the campus. Ryan plays mandolin in our band and at the local Irish sessions, so any session info for the area would be appreciated, also.

Send me a personal message if you want to email.

Alice

Guest has it right. You have to drive right by my house to get to Spokane from Montana. Unless, of course you take the long way around via Hwy 200 to Sandpoint.

Will PM you.

Yeah, I'm in Spokane. I'm at Gonzaga, though. I know there are a few musicians around here, namely the youngest guitar teacher here and some of his buddies who have a band (his mom runs the local Irish dance school) but I have no experience with sessions (none in my hometown).

I only know about one session in Spokane; it's at O'Doherty's downtown, right across the street from Riverside Park-- really easy to find. Every Tuesday night. Wish I could get down there sometimes, but middle of the week is just not going to happen. PM me if there's anything else you want to know about the life of a college student in Spokane.

Of course if your son is going to EWU,it is in Cheney which is west of Spokane. It is a nice little farm town that has grown due to the Univ. I worked there last summer wiring Dorothy Brewster Hall, a new women's residence in the downtown area.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say earlier today but didn't: Cheney is not in Spokane. Spokane is the nearest (17 miles away, officially) city of any size, but Cheney itself is on the rural side.
