Subject: hope floats From: GUEST,M.A.P Date: 22 Feb 03 - 05:21 PM Just watched the film -`Hope Floats` There are 2 lovely songs in it. The first when Sandra Bullock dances with her father in hospital and its something about `chances are` and the second one is when she is dancing with a man, and thats something about `evening shadows and stars appearing`. There is no reference to these songs in the credits. Does anyone know who the songs might be by and anymore details please. There are only snippets of the songs in the film. |

Subject: Lyr Add: CHANCES ARE (from Johnny Mathis) From: katlaughing Date: 22 Feb 03 - 05:42 PM Could it be this one by Johnny Mathis: CHANCES ARE Johnny Mathis Words by Al Stillman and Music by Robert Allen Peak position # 1 in 1957 Chances are 'cause I wear a silly grin The moment you come into view Chances are you think that I'm in love with you Just because my composure sort of slips The moment that your lips meet mine Chances are you think my heart's your Valentine BRIDGE In the magic of moonlight when I sigh, "Hold me close, dear" Chances are you believe the stars that fill the skies are in my eyes Guess you feel you'll always be the one and only one for me And if you think you could Well, chances are your chances are awfully good Chances are you believe the stars that fill the skies are in my eyes Guess you feel you'll always be the one and only one for me And if you think you could Well, chances are your chances are awfully good The chances are your chances are awfully good |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: chances are From: katlaughing Date: 22 Feb 03 - 05:45 PM Nope, sorry, looks like that's not the one. According to this page at Amazon, it's something else. You can listen to a snippet of it and some of the others there. It has all of the artists' names listed, so that should help in identifying the other song, too. kat |

Subject: Lyr Add: CHANCES ARE (Bob Seger) From: Bullfrog Jones Date: 22 Feb 03 - 08:29 PM 'Chances Are' is a duet between Bob Seger and Martina McBride, written by Bob Seger. You may also have heard Robert Downey Jnr singing it in Ally McBeal. The other song you quote from is 'To Make You Feel my Love' which appears in two versions on the soundtrack album, by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. It's written by some bloke called Bob Dylan. I love the soundtrack, but I've never seen the film --- the C.D. is a relic from my days as a radio producer when I used to get them for free! Here are the chords and lyrics: CHANCES ARE Verse 1: Bb Gm Chances are you'll find me Eb Bb Somewhere on your road tonight Gm F Seems I always end up driving by Bb Gm Ever since I've known you Eb Bb It just seems your on my way Gm F All the rules of logic don't apply Eb Cm Bb I long to see you in the night Eb Cm Bb F Be with you till morning light. Verse 2: A F#m D A I remember clearly how you looked the night we met A F#m E I recall your laughter and your smile A F#m D A I remember how you made me feel so at ease A F#m E I remember all your grace your style D Bm A And now your all I long to see D Bm E You've come to mean so much to me Chorus: A F#m D A Chances are I'll see you somewhere in my dreams tonight A F#m E D E You'll be smiling like the night we met A F#m D A Chances are I'll hold you and I'll offer all I have D Db Bm A E Your the only one I can't forget D A Baby your the best I've ever met Bridge: C# F#m And I'll be dreaming of the future C# F#m And hoping you'll be by my side Bm A In the morning I'll be longing D A E C# Bm F#m E For the night, for the night End Chorus: Bb Gm Eb Bb Chances are I'll see you somewhere in my dreams tonight Bb Gm F Eb F You'll be smiling like the night we met Bb Gm Eb Bb Chances are I'll hold you and I'll offer all I have Eb Dm7 Cm Bb F Your the only one I can't forget Eb Bb Baby your the best I've ever met.
