Just watched the film -`Hope Floats` There are 2 lovely songs in it. The first when Sandra Bullock dances with her father in hospital and its something about `chances are` and the second one is when she is dancing with a man, and thats something about `evening shadows and stars appearing`. There is no reference to these songs in the credits. Does anyone know who the songs might be by and anymore details please. There are only snippets of the songs in the film.

Nope, sorry, looks like that's not the one. According to this page at Amazon, it's something else. You can listen to a snippet of it and some of the others there. It has all of the artists' names listed, so that should help in identifying the other song, too.

'Chances Are' is a duet between Bob Seger and Martina McBride, written by Bob Seger. You may also have heard Robert Downey Jnr singing it in Ally McBeal. The other song you quote from is 'To Make You Feel my Love' which appears in two versions on the soundtrack album, by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. It's written by some bloke called Bob Dylan. I love the soundtrack, but I've never seen the film --- the C.D. is a relic from my days as a radio producer when I used to get them for free!

Thanks Katlaughing and Bullfrog Jones for your help, especially to you Bullfrog for the words and chords. The film is well worth watching. I bought it reduced at my rent a video local, so now I am going to splash out on the soundtrack.
