Subject: Origins: Ho Chi Minh Blues From: GUEST,Clay Eals Date: 22 Feb 03 - 06:48 PM Does anyone know the lyrics or origin of a song called the "Ho Chi Minh Blues" or "Ho Chi Minh Smiling Blues"? Earl Pionke, who owned the Earl of Old Town in Chicago, recalls Steve Goodman singing this song in the late 1960s at the Earl. I just want to flesh out this detail a little bit for the biography I'm writing about Goodman. If you want more information, don't hesitate to contact me. Thanks! (That gig, in Stratford, London, was actually featured in a BBC TV program on expatriates) |
