Feed my paranoia....do the clicks indicate the number of clones watching a thread...before it is posted to the "Real Mudcat" and not the "Other Mudcat?"

The idea is really simple actually. The more unique your visitors, the higher your Click Thru Ratio (CTR). The higher your CTR, the more sales your website will generate? |

The new-world economy (before the dot-com melt-down)was once explained as the difference between "mortor and bricks" being replaced by "websites and clicks."
It is possible to "tweak a system" so one "visitor" is registered as three or six or twelve.....so the resale value is increased.

Not knowing what browser garg uses, I hesitate to suggest he simply check his prefs....*grin* |

I got 6 continents last month but only 2 visits from Africa and 7 from South America. The surprise to me last month was that I got more visits from North America than from Europe. I think that is the first time that has happened. The membership, at a quick glance, still seems to be more UK people than anywhere else. I've yet to work out why folkinfo from day one has seemed more attractive to those in the UK than anywhere else. Maybe its the strong focus on traditional songs rather than things like Dylan, maybe its because I'm in the UK or maybe something completely different... Jon |

The latest ones I've seen are actually in the Media-player itself. It plays little MicroSoft commercial videos before it'll connect to the stations you want. I'm getting sick of seeing that asshole clown bouncing around to his heavy metal music in his car. There's no way to shut this shit off. You've just got to sit through it till it's over. Every upgrade leads to a new insult these days: nag screens, pop-ups.. It's a wonderful time we live, technologically-speaking, but do we have to have every free inch of the planet and every extra second contain an advertisement? |
