Subject: Help with royalties question From: jimmyt Date: 24 Feb 03 - 09:13 PM I am in a folk group performing mostly 1960 vintage "folk Scare" music. We would like to record a CD for some promotional uses plus have it available for purchase at gigs. Can someone give me some nuts and bolts info on how to go about this and pay the appropriate people so that we are on solid ground? I know this is probably pretty basic to lots of folks but we just want to go about this correctly. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me. |

Subject: RE: Help with royalties question From: DonMeixner Date: 24 Feb 03 - 11:05 PM Hi Jimmy, Go to Google and search Harry Fox agency. Follow the directions which are pretty plain. Search the songs you want to do and see if they are protected by a license. Get the appropriate licenses. Its just easier to do it than it is to fight about it latter on. Don |
