I have some dots for this......

I can't beleive it is a shetland tune - or that the dots are correct -

Anyone but anyone with any knowledge it would be much appreciated.

I've pushed it in to a notation writer and the results don't sound right!

I don't think I was loosing my marbles and it appears I'm not so any help much appreciated.

I have found that quite often, sheet music for tunes leaves out the . with a note. Tune is supposed to be played with a hornpipe rythm but is not actually written that way. Lots of Shetland tunes are on the "back beat" too. Could that be the problem with this one? (scan/e mail to me if you can and I'll look at it.)

AALD REEL O WHALSAY, DA. Shetland, Reel. D Major. ADAE. One part. "During a symposium at the School of Scottish Studies in the mid-1960's on Scottish, Shetland and Scandinavian music, the Norwegian Hardanger fiddler Magne Manheim pointed out that the Aald Reel o Whalsay closely resembled part of a Norwegian Halling, and it is likely that all the Muckle Reels were of Norwegian derivation" (Anderson & Georgeson, 1970).
