Subject: Need help to say right words with a song From: GUEST,D.D. (aka M.S.) Date: 03 Mar 03 - 05:51 PM I need a song that has a specific meaning or some lines in it that express the feeling that we should be friends now to make things easier but maybe later more will arise. Obviously it doesn't have to be exactly that but anyting close. Thanks |

Subject: Lyr Add: GETTING TO KNOW YOU (Rodgers/Hammerstein) From: Bullfrog Jones Date: 04 Mar 03 - 09:20 AM How about Getting To Know You ? Music by: Richard Rogers Lyrics by: Oscar Hammerstein II Getting to know you, Getting to know all about you. Getting to like you, Getting to hope you like me. Getting to know you, Putting it my way but nicely. You are precisely, My cup of tea. Getting to know you, Getting to feel free and easy. When I am with you, Getting to know what to say. Haven't you noticed, Suddenly I 'm bright and breezy, Because of all the beautiful and new Things I'm learning about you Day by day. I remember James Taylor doing a nice version of this on a childrens' charity album. BJ |

Subject: Lyr Add: LET'S BE FRIENDS (Mark Cohen) From: Mark Cohen Date: 05 Mar 03 - 12:36 AM Well, here's one that doesn't have a tune yet...it's supposed to be in a bouncy, syncopated, 1940s swing style. (The model was Steve Allen's "This Could Be the Start of Something".) If you can make a tune for it, let me know! Aloha, Mark LET'S BE FRIENDS (c)2002 Mark Cohen I slept all night the day that I met you Didn't see the world through a rose-colored lens When I looked into your eyes I didn't get hypnotized What do you say? Let's be friends I don't want to fly so high I'll never be landing I don't want to dive so deep I come up with the bends I'll keep my feet on the ground But I'm happy that you're around What do you say? Let's be friends (bridge) I know we've both been in love before We've had our share of joy and of pain We don't want to find ourselves on the wrong track So let's not rush onto the train I know the book of love has plenty of heartaches Nobody knows just how the next chapter ends Let's open a different book Let's keep ourselves off the hook What do you say? Let's be friends (There's also Lean On Me by Bill Withers.) |
