Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: GUEST Date: 04 Mar 03 - 10:54 AM Gareth, I believe your post would be most effective if you put it where it belongs--the Help forum. Jacob, a good place to start your search is the Sydney Indy Media website here: http://sydney.indymedia.org/ |
Subject: BS: anti war march - SYDNEY From: NicoleC Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:10 AM This is a test -- if the subject is changed to BS, does it get moved to the bottom? Sydney Morning Herald Coverage |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: NicoleC Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:11 AM Well.... guess not! |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: GUEST Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:11 AM I'm sure it will NicoleC. That is a wholly appropriate thing for the clones to do in this specific circumstance. |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: GUEST Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:20 AM Everyone, I've notified the clones in the Help forum. I'm sure one of them will take care of it soon. |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: GUEST,Jacob Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:21 AM I'm searching for a picture of a bloke carrying a sign "ferme la bush" |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: Nigel Parsons Date: 04 Mar 03 - 11:30 AM NicoleC: your "Thread subject matter" only gets applied to your posting, not the whole thread. This prevents all and sundry from re-naming threads which would never be recognised by their initiators. Occasionally it helps to identify when lyrics have been posted in the middle of a thread, as I assume the 'harvesters' do a search on the headings of the individual postings, not just the threads. Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: NicoleC Date: 04 Mar 03 - 12:14 PM I suppose that's as it should be, Nigel. Not everyone would do so to be helpful! :) |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: Mugwump Date: 05 Mar 03 - 07:58 AM I suggest you lot do your bickering elsewhere - poor 'ol Jacob has made a request for help, not for a bunch of trainspotters discussing the price of carrots! |
Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: Nigel Parsons Date: 05 Mar 03 - 11:21 AM Charles Atlas: a previous Guest (and NicoleC) pointed the way for him already. I feel a thread started by a guest for BS purposes, with absolutely no musical link deserves to have comments on the moving of it to a BS thread. Whilst this forum is usually very supportive of requests for help, I fail to see why this message was addressed here! I also fail to see any example of 'bickering'. Although there was a brief discussion of the effect of changing message headers. Once the thread has achieved its purpose (which it has by providing two links) I fail to see why you have a problem with 'thread creep' which, at least, avoids starting a separate thread for these comments. Subject: RE: anti war march - SYDNEY From: GUEST,jacob Date: 05 Mar 03 - 11:28 AM Ah but this thread does have a musical connection! The reason that I was asking for pictures is that around christmas time a good friend of mine singer songwriter Nigel Saunders disappeared. There were rumours that he had been seen at the Sydney march with a "Ferme La Bush" placard. Nigel was an eccentric musician loved by many in the South London folk scene. Thanks to those that supplied links ...but still searching. |
