Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Nigel Parsons Date: 04 Mar 03 - 12:46 PM It's a long way to travel from Cardiff without more info on the free beer! Nigel |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Fortunato Date: 04 Mar 03 - 01:32 PM Raggytash, I hope the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat fundraiser does very well. As I'm in the US, I'm unable to come. Now, then. I really must express my displeasure with the usage of that beautiful and sacred phrase, FREE BEER, to lure unsuspecting 'catters in here, no matter how noble the cause. You can't go about usely holy phrases in such a capricious and misleading fashion. It simply isn't done. You, sir, owe me one pint of good ale. I await your pleasure, Fortunato. |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Mrs.Duck Date: 04 Mar 03 - 02:01 PM I have it on good authority that none of the beer will be incarcerated although it will undoubtedly be behind bars. However this was not Raggytash trying to give the beer away but merely a plea for you all to turn up and pay the ransom to have it released. It was not an offer but an instruction. So lets go and free that beer!!! |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Raggytash Date: 04 Mar 03 - 02:51 PM Mrs Duck, your intereptation is extremely accurate,(honest Injun!) however not being one to upset another (unwittingly at least) should Fortunato ever venture to these shores, or should I venture to theirs I will endeavour to purchase a pint in order to assuage any misconception. Considering the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat needs all the good will it can muster in order to keep functioning. As I have ementioned in previous threads this inshore rescue boat is NOT sponsored by the RNLI who pulled out on 1977 saying that the area could be covered by the Whitby boat (10 miles to the south)All monies raised go directly to keep the service running. The Runswick Bay Rescue Boat is Registered Charity 1014544 |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Noreen Date: 04 Mar 03 - 03:56 PM Well, Raggy, if you buy me a pint on the 15th, I'll buy one for Fortunato when I see him in the US in October. Deal?? ;0) |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Lady Nancy Date: 04 Mar 03 - 04:09 PM Sorry, busy with (early) St. Pat's celebrations at the Empress, Harrogate from 2.00 p.m. Anyone who can make it is welcome. Subject: RE: FREE BEER From: Beccy Date: 04 Mar 03 - 05:00 PM There's a band around here called "Free Beer and Chicken". Awful clever from a marketing point of view- but I bet being behind the bar during their gigs is a real bitch! |
Subject: RE: FREE BEER (Runswick Bay Rescue Boat fundraiser) From: Raggytash Date: 04 Mar 03 - 06:39 PM Noreen thats a deal.............When you see him, turn him upside down and shake all the change out of his pockets and send it to the RBRB care of the Royal Hotel Runswick Bay .......correct address to follow...........Looking forward to seeing one and all on the 15th |

Subject: RE: FREE BEER (Runswick Bay Rescue Boat fundraiser) From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 17 Mar 03 - 07:42 AM That figure has now increased to £170.00, I'm doing a gig tonight so the tin will be out to be rattled around the audience. My 2 heavies will be on hand to catch people by the ankles and shake them warmly till their pockets are devoid of loose change so that figure should increase. Thanks again to one and all.
