Subject: RE: Folklore: What do you know about Ireland eh? From: Noreen Date: 06 Mar 03 - 04:46 PM Question might be put back to you, Conrad! The currency in Ireland has not been the punt for some time now. And Irish people haven't dressed like the people in the top picture for even longer... Sorry, didn't get past the first 'lesson'. And I like quizzes too. |

Subject: RE: Folklore: What do you know about Ireland eh? From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 06 Mar 03 - 07:02 PM Well yes, Noreen, I've certainly not seen those costumes around much since February last year, which is when the punt was withdrawn. Worse still, there's a misspelling of Carolan. And the answer to Q9, lesson 4, is highly questionable - otherwise I'd have sailed through that round with 10/10 (against 3/10 in my first attempt at lesson 2). But these are minor glitches, easily sorted. A lot of effort has gone into this site, and plenty of visitors to it will get something out of it - if only the links which, as usual with Conrad, are first-class. Turn your speakers off though! The midi rendition of Foggy Dew is a real horror, and the links to other tunes don't work, or they didn't for me. In fact they did weird things to my display. (Your files or my browser, Conrad?) |
