SUNDAY MORNING IN DIXIE
L. Walker, ©1946
As sung by The Johnson Family Singers on "Sunday Mornings in Dixie" (2002)

§ When it's Sunday morning in Dixie,
Listen to the church bells chime.
When it's Sunday morning in Dixie,
We'll all have a wonderful time.
When we reach camp meetin'
There'll be old friends greetin'
Folks we haven't seen for so long.
There'll be banjos strummin'.
We'll join in the hummin'
Of an old familiar song.

There's a great day dawning in Dixie.
Listen to the church bells chime.
When it's Sunday morning in Dixie,
We'll all get together,
In all kinds of weather,
And have a wonderful time. §§

Magnolia blossoms swayin' in a soft summer breeze—
What a lovely day of rest!
... folks can do what they please
In the time that we love best.

REPEAT FROM § TO §§.

That is a problem! The cd is Sunday Mornings in Dixie, but the first track on the cd is Sunday Morning in Dixie.

It appears that the title of the currently available CD is "Sunday Mornings in Dixie." (Note the plural.) Click here for an advertisement.

But the song was titled "Sunday Morning in Dixie."

I don't mean to nit-pick; it can be awfully tough to find something on the Internet if you don't have the title exactly right.

It was the Johnson family. A cd is available with that as the title track.

I used to hear this song on the radio here in Western North Carolina as I was growing up. It is a gospel song by a singing group and I can't remember who. Maybe the Chuck Wagon Gang, or the Johnson Family. Any help out there. "WHEN ITS SUNDAY MORNING IN DIXIE"
Jim
