Subject: Hi - I'm new to the Cafe
From: simply_sung
Date: 14 Mar 03 - 02:49 AM

Hey all,

I was introduced to Mudcafe by my sweetheart, KatRose. Some of you may reconise my nick from Paltalk were Katrose and I hosted the best "Live music" room.

I am an Englishman, now living in Texas with KatRose, I play acoustic 12string and enjoy all types of music.

I spent my early years touring with a band around Europe, never got famous, just lots of hangovers and very broke - had to enter "The real world" and get a job. It was listening to Paltalk that encouraged me to get back into my music and have now started writing my own songs again after an absence of twenty years.

I am looking foward to being a part of this group and hope I can make some worthwhile contributions.

You are not the only Brit living in exile. But tell me, what language did you have to learn to communicate with the folks in Texas? Welcome to Mudcat.

SS - (I'm fairly new to this group too) Don't give up hope! I spent my childhood in San Angelo TX but the family moved to Minnesota when I was 14. It took many years of therapy to overcome the culture shock but I did it. Y'all.

Hi there, and g'day. I met a woman from London who had lived in Texas awhile and guessed from her accent she was Australian. I'm in Kentucky, but people have always complained I don't speak it right. My mother the english professor warped my speach patterns, and I sound like Garfield the cartoon cat.
