Todd Butler is a Canadian who has paid his dues in the Vancouver Scene. I caught him at a folk club in Victoria last night. His guitar work is superlative-as good as I have ever heard-lightning fast riffs, all the licks picked up from his travels, that timing that you wish you could have. Check out and listen to " Home" or " Your Parents " for serious stuff but he is mainly a sarcastic humourist." Festivals " and " Homeland " are hilarious. Americans won't get some of the Canadian in- jokes but please listen to everything. I would like to know if anyone can come up with somebody to rival him after you give him a listen.
