I have just been informed that a new singing weekend is to be run this yer in Newcastle, Co Down. So far the dates I have are 30th, 31st May and 1st June in the new Cnocnafeola Cultural and Activity Centre i the little village of Attical, Kilkeel Co Down. It's being run by Mairead White, sister of Roisin, to support and honour the lifetime roll she has played in promoting and developing traditional music in Ireland. I must admit I feel it is LONG overdue!! Roisin is one of the best traditional female singers ever to come out of Ireland. Im glad Mairead is running this weekend, it WILL be a success! I wouldn't miss it! I will keep you posted when I find more information. This is most definitely one for your calander folks.
