Subject: CD's to aid musicians in 3rd World From: jlp Date: 20 Mar 03 - 04:56 PM Hi mudcat friends: I would like you to know about a series of CD's and cassettes that I have created in Senegal and Little Tibet. The aim of the CD's is two-fold. Firstly, the musicians in 3e world receive the profits made on these CD's. Secondly, they were made in the spirits of communication and cultural enrichment. You can read more about the CD's on my website: http://users.bart.nl/~jlpertz It is not possible to hear the CD's via the website. But there have been a couple of hour long radio programs with samples of the CD's and other recordings I have made on the Dutch national radio VPRO. The program is called De Wandelende Tak. (That translates roughly as "The Walking Branch" but it is a word also used for the insect called praying mantis in english.) Per program there is about 40 minutes of music and 20 minutes of (Dutch) interveiw with me. This will stay in the archive for a long time. You can listen to it with Real Audio. 14 februari 2000: "Journey to Senegal" and 17 maart 2003: "The Great Flute Journey, Part I" I am interested in any reactions. If anyone is interested in obtaining these CD's and/ or helping with spreading the word in your corner of the world, let me know? thanks!! also in name of the musicians. yours, jlp |
