Subject: Problems with Guitar Center, Inc. From: GUEST,Guest, Robbie Date: 24 Mar 03 - 12:38 PM I recently purchased a Roland Rd-150 from the Guitar Center on February 1, 2003. It took them forever to deliver despite numerous calls. Has anyone else had bad experiences recently with Guitar Centers? |

Subject: RE: Problems with Guitar Center, Inc. From: John P Date: 24 Mar 03 - 12:56 PM If you are expecting great service, don't buy from the cheapest place in town. The reason they can offer great prices is that they don't provide the kind of personalized service one would hope for from a place that just took thousands of dollars from you. I work for a company that has a small acoustic music store. We are a Taylor Guitar warranty center. We offer free custom set-ups to new guitar owners who buy guitars from us. The local Guitar Center was selling Taylors cheaper than we could, and telling their customers to come to our store for the free custom set-up. We don't, of course, do free work on guitars that were not bought from us, and Taylor certainly doesn't provide that as a service to new owners. So we ended up with people who had been lied to standing in our store being angry at us because we weren't giving them what they'd been promised. Keep your dollars in your community! Support the local retailers who actually care about you and about music. John Peekstok |
