...hmmm now let's see...Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter who works for a major corporation....the only shield she is likely to produce is a dental dam, my friends...how anyone could believe this story is beyond me! I too heard WBAI report it this morning - they read it from a Russian newspaper if I remember it correctly.   I have not heard any other news organization pick up on it. Doesn't mean it is true or not true.    Even it it is true, I find it hard to believe that Dick would fly anywhere.

On google, the story is over 16 hours old with nothing new. here's the original one they had from a London-based Arab paper: click. The same article does say the son of a Canadian politico is over there as a human shield. Sorry I cannot remember his name.

Larry- If it's true that NBC broadcast the story, then they're not putting it on their website. I checked CNN, MSNBC, ABC news, Fox News and searched on Google, Yahoo and AJ. I checked UPI and Associated Press. There was nothing there at all about Elizabeth Cheney becoming a human shield. The only sites I saw that carried the "story" were Istanbul Indymedia and Indymedia Italia. I'm gonna go out on a pretty firm limb here and say that the story is a fabrication.

Carol- They have two daughters. The potential human shield in question here is the daughter name Elizabeth. The other one is Mary.

Your link didn't work for me, Kat, but I have read that a son of our late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau is in Iraq, although I think he was being more of an indie journalist than a human shield. I don't remember the son's name, either.

Although not mentioned in the the Arabic newspaper, it is likely refers to Mary Cheney, the lesbian daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney.

One of the Italian indy medias is reporting that Echo, the Russian report, said it is Mary, but Mary is married with three children, so it seems unlikely that it would be her.

I hope that none of you, by now, are under the impression that this is true. I heard on the dreaded Fox News Network that the spokesperson for Mrs. Cheany denied that the story is true.

I did hear, however, that the great, great granddaugter of Gene Autry planned to ride the great great granddaughter of Champion through the streets of Bagdhad to protest the Iraqui regime's cruelty to animals during Saddam's reign. I think she will not do that, however, until things have quietened down a bit.
