Subject: Dave Diamond From: DianeW Date: 25 Jul 98 - 07:54 AM I saw that some of the songs have as composer David Diamond. I used to work with a Dave Diamond at the American Embassy in London about 20 years ago. He sang with the Shanty men /Shanty crew/ something like that. Anyone know if it's the same person? Thanks Oh by the way I have a fair collection of Music Hall songs if anyone wants words although I suppose that's a bit off topic for here |

Subject: RE: Dave Diamond From: Barry Finn Date: 07 Aug 98 - 11:41 PM Sounds like the same Dave, was he with the Boarding Party, around the Washington DC area. He's now (for the time being) in the Boston area. I'll be seeing him often if you want to pass along anything to him I'd be happy to relay it. Barry |
Subject: RE: Dave Diamond From: Bill D Date: 08 Aug 98 - 01:06 PM yep, that's the one....His semi-permanent address is still in the DC area, and he comes to our open sings and festivals and such whenever he is not inflicting his songs on the rest of the world..*grin*...Tell him Bill Day is telling the entire world all his secrets on the internet....that oughta be good for some fun...and a flood of email for ME!!! Dave writes some of the best parodies around today, get his songbook!! |
Subject: RE: Dave Diamond From: David Diamond Date: 03 Sep 98 - 10:55 PM Barry Finn kindly called to let me know that my name was being taken in vain. Yes it is I who used to sing with the Shanty Crew in England when I wasn't running computers in the Embassy. The lies the other fellows told about me above are all true - and I'm always glad to hear from old friends! I'll be glad to e-mail a soft copy of the David Diamond Song book to anyone who can deal with a Microsoft Word document. |
