A day premature, but here it is folks.

Next PTH gig is Durty Nellies, Friday 11th April. But plenty going on before then. Tonight, 31st March is the inaugural Hull/Goole/Selby/Twillingsgate session organised by Bill Sables at the Crown and Anchor, Newport. Festivities commence at 8.30, be there or be a shot hairy leprechaun. If its anything like last week in Barton, it'll be a corker.

Many thanks to Sir Rog for the temporary loan of his guitar at the Sun Session yesterday, returned in tact with a full complement of fingerpicks and capo! Next week sees the return of the now legendary first Sunday Session at that venue, I trust we shall have a full compliment of scruffy folkies in attendance... Indeed, with the weather being so beautiful, I wonder if we shall witness the truimphant return of the Purple Helmets Display Team...??? I shall call Twillingsgate to enquire of their schedule...

A quick note to say it was indeed a pleasure to meet the incomparable Rock Chick this weekend. Hope to see you again in the future, my sweet.

Any gossip, anybody?

Due to a muscles in spasm in my back I will not be able to attend this evening, my Chiropractor is due to give me a going over this afternoon.
However if there are any young ladies (with stilettoes)willing and able I am always prepared to seek alternative treatment.

Just been discussing the possibility of that with my son and hairy, I'm loaning the trailer tent to a buddy for the duration, it depends when he collects, but the thought of quaffing a measure of three of ale with your goodself and the every lovely Mary is appealing (I nearly said Fragrant Mary but managed to stop myself, no point in falling out with good people like yourselves).
This is of couse dependent on my bloody back being something like, curse motorcycles, or curse the daft bugger who fell off one and went underneath a car ......Oh sod it thats me

Deanmeister,
Many, many moons have travelled the skies since I last rode the metal horse.
Although I've still got a little Suzuki K10P (80cc) in bits in the basement. Only second owner from new in 1968, still got the green log book !
Did you cop the definative chords for Jobsworth sent by Mr Taylor himself.

Raggy

I did....personally I play it in C capo 2. Have resurrected it and will be performing to an exclusive Audience at the Sun Inn on Sunday.

Mine's an '87 VFR750F, incidentally.

De-Mister, My capo, on the other hand, is a Hodkin and Tonks KR3 with a rodgering spike by Bilston's of Norwich, twin puma-horn fettering spools and a yaks'-tongue angled bogling plinth. It dates from 1915, and stinks like deer's hooves, and always leaves a wet patch on my jerkin.

VFR750F capos are for pansies.

How can someone who scrapes catgut for a living, possibly have any idea about the use of these items, for a start they wear their capo's on their chins and not on the strings as is the accepted manner. Furthermore their machines are limited to 4 strings as they cannot seemingly manage the other two. As the author of a previous thread so rightly states he stinks of deer hooves, and obviously has other problems if he leaves wet stains on his jerkin.

Is that a noun or a verb by the way

Shy Kent girlie.....?? Hmmmm. Managed to avoid the crash landing by executing a daredevil cuban eight inverted 8g pullout at the last minute. I'm practiced at such manouevres, and skillfully avoided the surface to air missile. Thus I live to fight another day.....

And yes, it sounds wonderful, Noreen... wanna come for a spin...? xx

Great to see the drivel master back on form!

Shy Kent girlie.....You have your doubts? Think the crash landing sounded less painful than executing such a daredevil cuban eight inverted 8g pullout at the last minute. I could tell you were WELL practiced at such skillful manouevres ;^) Of course being such a well praticed person at these stunts i dont have to tell you, but i will anyway, you have to be exteremly cleaver / careful not to get your tackle all in a tangle cos you could end up all in a mess!!but being the person you come across as i'm very confiedent you will live to fight many another day.....;o)))

Punch the Horse won't be on at Chorlton Folk, Thursdays, South West Manchester Cricket Club, Ellesmere Road, Chorlton. Manchester UK.

Or The International Festival of Dance, Sunday May 4, Free in Longford Park, Stretford/Chorlton. Manchester UK, unless they really wanted to be.

What a fantastic bloody session yesterday!!!!! Thanks once again to all who attended. A really varied set of tunes and songs from all over the world, and a great bunch of friends performing them. Special thanks to Noreen, Rock Chick and Leadfingers for travelling across the country to visit our pretty corner of the world, to little Rosemary and Kayliegh, and the aurally stunning Rachel (didn't really notice, but I'm told she was quite attractive, too....)

Bet Leadfingers wasn't expecting birthday cake!! Thanks to Noreen for that!!

See you all again next month!!

Pete.

When you've all stopped drivelling (or is it dribbling?), may I draw your attention to the fact that the Equine Pugilists will be appearing, all at the same time, on stage at the legendary Durty Nellies, High Street, Hull, tomorrow night, Friday 11th April.

Hostilities will commence, spookily enough, at 9pm. Strategic experts are predicting a short campaign, enemy forces are likely to be taken by surprise by the latest weapon in the coalition arsenal, code named Nik Nak, and expectations are that all resistance will have been annihilated by 11.15pm, and prisoners will not be taken. Humanitarian Aid agencies have been alerted.

General Meister, 2IC Ground Forces, Urban Music Terrorist Division.
