Was having a little chat the other day and nobody could settle the argument. In some movie or other, Marlon Brando sings Long gone John from Bowling green"...not the whole song, but a few Brando-style mumbles. Anybody recall what film this is?

Are you thinking of The Fugitive Kind (from around 1962) where he plays folk/blues singer Val Xavier? I'm pretty sure the one songs he plays and sings is dubbed.

I dont know. It was someone else's recollection, not mine. What was described to me was Marlon Brando sitting down and mumbling "Long gone john from Bowling Green" and some other fragments, not singing it as a performance.

Do you remember GARY CROSBY (yes, the immortal son of Bing) as a "way too hip" folksinger cat, trying to steal local ballads from a gorgeous Mountain gal in......

TWILITE ZONE!!!!!

Ooga booga ooga booga

Rick
