Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: katlaughing Date: 15 Oct 03 - 07:47 PM Sorcha, ten years ago tomorrow, we lost a dear friend. I've been thinking about him a lot, trying to decide what I should do to mark that day. Now I know, I shall toast to the memory him and you and your new grandson. It's a comforting thing to see life affirmed whilst remembering the passage of life, too. Thanks for sharing and I am giving thanks for a safe and healthy outcome for all. luvyakatwhowillbeagrandmaagaininacoupleofmonthstoo |

Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Rapparee Date: 15 Oct 03 - 06:25 PM Ole Granny Sorcha...Grandma Sorcha...Grandmother Sorcha... Jist a poor ol' woman all bent and crippled up with the roomatiz, a-bakin' cookies fer her li'l grankids, them a-looking up at her with dewy-wet eyes as she tells 'em a story 'bout a travelin' drummer at the hearthside, her ol' gray hair haloin' her wise, old eyes, her corncob pipe clamped in her teeth, a little bit of tobacco juice drippin' onto her long, high-collared dress with the cameo pin holding the collar closed. And she speaks to them, sayin' "GIT your everlovin' paws offen them cookies or I'll swat your behind so hard it'll end up between yer ears!" Good luck to you, mom, dad, and kid! |

Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Sorcha Date: 15 Oct 03 - 05:43 PM WE ARE HAVING A BABY TOMORROW!!! (Oct. 16th) One way or another, Owen will be here tomorrow. They are going to induce because ultra sound says he is over 8 lbs and Tiny Little Mamma is very tiny with NO hips to speak of. If she has trouble, they will do a C-section. They have to be there at 6:30 AM and I can't get there until about 4 PM (1600) so if there is a section, I might be Granny before I get there!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Amos Date: 10 Jun 03 - 05:29 PM Amazing!! Jareth really is a made up name, apparently, but it sounds so much like an old New England or Old Testament name that I seriously believed you were mistaken, Sorch. I will never doubt you again, I promise!! A |
Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Sorcha Date: 09 Jun 03 - 07:23 PM Please pardon Mrs. Stoopid again. His name is Owen Jareth not Jethra. I was wondering why they were using the fem of Jethro.....Jareth is a made up name, but some sculptor that makes Christian/Christmas figurines used it for his Little Drummer Boy. |
Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: CarolC Date: 07 Jun 03 - 09:39 AM Congratulations to you, Sorcha, and to the little one's mother and father. |
Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Liz the Squeak Date: 07 Jun 03 - 03:00 AM Friend of a friend went for her ultrasound and was asked if they wanted to know the sex. They said yes, OK, and the technician turned the monitor towards them and said 'here we are, it's a boy, and we know it's a boy because he is in fact, masturbating.' We weren't given the option (so many pregnant women in my area suffer 'accidents' if they know they are having a girl) so Bratling was a suprise, although, having a C-section (medical grounds, not just too posh to push), we could see what she was before we saw her face - it was the first bit of her that saw daylight. She was head up, legs stretched out (rather than flexed in) and with her back to my back.... every awkward way a baby could be except possibly sideways. Get those knitting needles out Sorcha, he needs a fluffy bonnet knitted to look like a bunny - and we want pictures! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Granny Sorcha..........(!!) From: Sorcha Date: 06 Jun 03 - 10:54 PM No, I wish........or a kitten. Friend brought over a new kitten today, soft solid grey. Oh, she was cute! Owen will be too I'm sure. Pointed out to them tonight that he will be called OJ and Luke said "Do I look like a N***er? I'll shoot 'em" |
