I heard one track of Duncan's new album "Thunderstruck" on the radio, and I just about was. Thunderstruck. sequences of notes rarely heard on pipes, sounded near classicl to me

They say here that he is wired to a mars bar.
I've only heard a couple of his tracks on the radio from his new album and they are up to his usual unique standard. I'll be buying it shortly.
The funny thing is that a lot of people from the piping establishment are a bit shell shocked with Gordon's "Bending" of notes but he is
generally adored by the folk bands etc.
He's more than a breath of fresh air on the Celtic scene.

"Thunderstruck" was produced by Tony McManus, btw.

He says "Gordie is something of a guru in Highland pipe circles... The album is incredible - his playing is just astonishing!"

If Tony finds his playing astonishing, then he has to be something special indeed.

Gordon is of course, the son of Jock Duncan, himself something of a legend in folksong circles ....

Anyone know of any sample online? I found his latest and previous cd's but no samples, NOT that that is a bad thing, I'd just am eager to hear him play!

Thanks!

Kat, I have emailed Tony to ask him if he can put up an MP3 of Gordie's CD on his site TonyMcManus.com.

He is gigging in Europe at the moment so I don't expect a speedy reply, but if you log on you will find some amazing music on the MP3s that are already there .
