Subject: SCOTTISH FOLK SONG;
From: ZORRO
Date: 30 Jul 98 - 04:34 PM

There is an old Scottish Folk song about a ship called the Maid of Illah (Spelling may be incorrect) I'm looking for the lyrics. Some of the words: "By the fire light of winter with a brandy filled glass, jolly Jack Tarver returned home at last, his sea legs shook and his hands were never still... A lifetime of sailing, he'll never get his fill.. Chorus: I could see the Maid of Illah, as she rounded the head of Broad Bay... etc. etc. Anyone know the lyrics? Thanks. Z

The song that was wanted must be THE MAID OF ISLAY by Iain MacDonald. Click the link to see where the lyrics were posted in another thread.
