I can't find any website, except one which had phone numbers for this event, one number was unobtainable and the other knew nothing about it. I only live half an hour away from Lincoln, I'd love to pop over tomorrow and soak up some atmosphere and music - I have a four year old in tow though - can someone tell me what's happening? I'll go out and get a local paper in the meantime though I'm pessimistic there will be any mention. Our local only seems to report such things AFTER they've happened!

Today - Sunday most of the action is at the Turks head although there will be a session at the Victoria on Union Road (near the Castle Drawbridge). The Turks Head is on Newport almost opposite Radio Lincolnshire's studios. This afternoon there is a concert of Lincolnshire music at 3pm with the wonderful Brian Dawson providing the ancient and the equally wonderful Miranda Sykes providing the modern. At 5pm there is a singaround and then the main concert this evening is with Miranda Sykes and Pete Coe.
Hope that answers all of the questions. Hope to see some of you this afternoon.

Thanks for updating us Sooz - I suspect that if the festival had been on the web people might have been able to plan this into their weekend. Hope you get a good crowd at the Turks Head & make good music - won't be able to join you today I'm afraid, another time :-)

Sooz, you need to supply the full URL with the http:// bit. e.g. http://www.angelfire.com/folk/gainsboroughfolk.

BTW, the "automatic gismo" doesn't add the Mudcat address. Links given without the http:// bit are relative links and are useful for addresses in the same site, e.g. to point to this thread, you could just give the "gismo" /thread.cfm?threadid=59154.

Well I didn't make it after all, got caught up painting my living room ceiling blue (gak - someone hand me a pot of brilliant white). SO... does anyone know what goes on at this Eco Fest on the Lincolnshire Wolds in the middle of June? Will it amuse the four-year-old? He has quite eclectic tastes.

Don't know anything about the Ecofest. Will keep my ears open.
We had a great time at Lincoln yesterday and made new friends but it was a shame that so few people were there. I've just ordered 3000 brochures for our festival in Gainsborough in October. If anyone would like some to distribute at their club they could PM me their snail-mail address.

Usually clashes with Upton and I couldn't make it the year it didn't. Any ceilidhs?

Dáithí - there is a regular session at the Victoria on Union Road. I think its the first Sunday of the month in the afternoon. Lincoln Folk Club in the Regency Club (Tentercroft Street)is on alternate Friday evenings. 9th May is the next one - will we see you there? Listen to the Radio Lincolnshire Folk Diary on Wednesday evenings at 6.35pm (94.9FM) will tell you whats going on.
Mr Red - no ceilidh only Morris this year. There will be a great ceilidh in the Great Hall of Gainsborough Old Hall on 28th June - fireworks and everything! This is part of the Gainsborough Riverside Festival. Not a folk do apart from the ceilidh - more of a carnival but worth supporting.

Thanks Sooz - yes, i've been to the Regency a few times , but don't really care for the single spot approach. I play whistle, so I'd rather join in with other musicians - it goes better for public consumption with the guitar and fiddle i think! I'll miss the 9th though, as I shall be in Scotland for the weekend.
Must try the Victoria, though it will be June 1st now. is it a session style, or what? Would a whistle be welcome?
Dáithí

I haven't been to the Victoria session as I'm a claustrophobic non-smoking singer and it is in a very small space. Why not try Gainsborough Folk Club? We meet on alternate fridays and have a singaround. Tunes just as welcome as songs though and there will always be at least a guitarist ready to join you.
