Subject: Langley Mill Boats, Beer & Music From: GUEST,Boatie Date: 30 Apr 03 - 08:53 AM If you're interested in canals, boats, beer AND music don't forget about the boat rally at Langley Mill (Great Northern Basin - top of the Erewash) in Notts (UK) this coming weekend. Lots of boats and boaty things plus mini beer festival, the odd boatie folky and maybe a session or two. The Festival is to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the re-opening of the basin following restoration. Information on the British Waterways website. |
Subject: RE: Langley Mill Boats & Music From: Dave Bryant Date: 30 Apr 03 - 11:10 AM For any southerners, there's also Canalway Cavalcade at Little Venice near Paddington, London. It's usually well attended by boaters mainly of whom are into folk music. Linda and I are hoping to get there at some point, although I won't have the boat with me. I notice that this year it's being opened by my old mate Dave Blagrove who is well known (or perhaps notorious) on the cut for his singing and songwriting. |
