Again, probably not the song requested, but here is another one with the same title:

HOME IS WHERE YOU HANG YOUR HEART
As sung by Isaac Payton Sweat on "Cotton Eyed Joe Schottische, Jole Blon, and Other Bandstand Favorites" (2009)

1. Holdin' my thumb out to a hot west Texas highway,
Stacy's drawin' flowers in the sand.
The car that just flew by us I guess ain't goin' our way,
Or prob'ly he just didn't see my hand.
But that's all right; we'll just sleep here tonight
In the shelter of each other's arms.

CHORUS: 'Cause home is anywhere we hang our heart.
If this ain't heaven, it's a hell of a start.
Makes no never mind where we are,
'Cause home is anywhere we hang our heart.

2. The sign says Chicago but we won't say no to Frisco,
Or somewhere in between will do just fine.
Flyin' like two sparrows whichever way the wind blows,
We might go along just for the ride.
Should we stay till the sun goes away,
We don't mind makin' love beneath the stars. CHORUS TWICE

No, the Skyline version is not the song that I remember... the lyrics should be something like this:

Home is where you hang your heart
Home is where you hang your heart
So take me back to that tumbling shack
Home is where you hang your heart.

When I was just a baby...
I built me a castle of sand...
And when I had it all finished
I said... [don't remember rest of stanza]

Home is where you hang your heart
Home is where you hang your heart
So take me back to that tumbling shack
Home is where you hang your heart.

When I was one and twenty...
I built me a castle of stone
But oh how cold and how dreary
It was cause I live there alone.

Home is where you hang your heart
Home is where you hang your heart
So take me back to that tumbling shack
Home is where you hang your heart.

Sweetheart I'm old and tattered
But I thank the Lord up above
We've built a home that's a castle
It's cornerstone is our love.

Home is where you hang your heart
Home is where you hang your heart
So take me back to that tumbling shack
Home is where you hang your heart.

"Home Is Where You Hang Your Heart" (Rachel Kalem/Danny Weiss), performed by the bluegrass band Skyline (a.k.a. Tony Trischka & Skyline), appears on their album "Fire of Grace" (1989). Kalem and Weiss are members of Skyline. Here's an excerpt, with a couple of gaps:

How long ... winds on out of town.
You begin to wonder what went what went wrong ... sun goes down
This empty ache inside you it's tearing you apart.
Before you go, you need to know: home is where you hang your heart.

However, I doubt that it's the song you want.

This page says "Home Is Where You Hang Your Heart" was recorded in 1956 by the R&B group The Dominoes (a.k.a. Billy Ward and the Dominoes) as the flip side of "St. Therese of the Roses" (Decca 29933). I couldn't find any sound samples, lyrics, or author; I couldn't determine whether it's available on a CD; and I can't determine whether it's the same song that Skyline recorded. However I did find a few sites that advertised the 45 for sale:

I believe this song was recorded in the mid 50's by the Domino's. It was on the flip "B" side of 45. Any info on song or available 45 would be appreciated.
