This is the second time in fairly close temporal proximity that a question about this song or Ellis Island itself has come up. Is there some reason (an event, or date in history?) more people are paying attention to this subject now?

We would really appreciate some help with the tune. We heard the song when we were in Ireland, earlier in the year, and can remember how the verse goes but not the chorus. Is there anyone out there who can help?

I sing the song, but I'm not really a musician and can't do recognised notation unless in proper manuscript normal clef, which for me would be laborious. PM me with a phone number and I'll sing it to you down the phone.

There is an orchestral version of this song which i have just found on acd of Phil Coulter the song is titled Ellis Island .It is track 5 on the cd Classic Tranquility and any one could sing to this track
