Alright then.
Now that all has been established that the mouse has fur like a pussy...
I would like to take you all on a ride down to,
'Make up a freaky, funky, get down, pass it around, don't make no sense, or maybe it will, jive ass talking, arthritically walkin'story of the times.
I'm setting the stage and the title.
The title.

The Birthmark

The jest of the jive..(the stage)

Birthmarks have appeared.
The signs.

Tweedandonlytweednottobeconfusedwithkandu,
I want only you, Tweedandonlytweednottobecofusedwithkandu, to read this message, the rest of MOABS please pass by...
Tweedonlytweednottobeconfusedwithkandu, how the hell did you know I was naked tonight?
To assume you know what I'm up to, is for me to assume you have planted a hidden camera in my room where I run naked and play.
Tweedandonlytweednottobeconfusedwithkandu, you are now under suspicion.

P.S. Do you notice that I like to rub my mouse when I sit here in my little room in the upstairs from the downstair room?

We're staying home this weekend. But our second wedding aniversary is coming up on the 12th, so we might be a bit busy in the days leading up to and including that date. We'll just have to see how things go...

oh lordy I am confuzzled! How can the NEW library be the MOTHER of all libraries in Seattle? Isn't that paradox? Or is Seattle positioned on/in/near/beside/above/about/between a time-space rift?

As a guest logging on at the Seattle Public Library. This afternoon visiting my childhood branch, later visiting the MOTHER of all Seattle libraries, the new one downtown. Had a good lunch of cod at the Alki Spud after I got off the plane. Nice day, all things considered, and LOTS of Kerry/Edwards signs in sight!

O, Mother! I would not leave thee were it not needful! Tread water, dear Mother, amidst the flood of politics and the debris of detritus! I leave thee but momentarily and shalt return as quickly as I can! I can but pray that Others will care for thee whilst I am gone as I have cared for thee!

Amen.

We'll just have to check in from our various locations and haul 'er up, if Carol and others aren't around to help. But hopefully Tweed and Khandu will banter enough about accordions and such with Carol and others to keep her happily afloat.

While you're making your travel plans, I've decided that I can't drive to Washington from Texas for the $122 I just paid to fly, so I got a good deal. You'll have to uphold the Mother's standards and keep her from dropping off the page while I'm away. I am hoping (among other things) to take a peek in at that new Seattle Public Library, so if I can find a computer and the time while there I might check in. But I might not. Maybe I'll just wander up the street and watch them throw salmon around the market for a while.

Hokey dokey. I'll need a little advance on the automobile -- I'll split that 50-50 with you on account you is a liberry -- and 30 cents a mile as a reasonable supplement for cost, seeing as how you'll cover half the cost of the 2004 4-Runner.

PS: I forgot. I look really, really silly in any sort of dress, except a Great Kilt, 'cuz that shows off my manly legs and attracks girls. The wimmen who work at the Library don't usually wear dresses or skirts; they usually wear pants. And tops, too. I don't know what they wear or don't when they're not at work, but if you want to go peek into their winders I won't stop you. Some of them and/or their huzbands and/or boy friends are pritty good shots, though.

Cuz, Tweed, we sometimes have concerts and stuff like that in the Library. Last one was a choral group of about 50 Estonians.

So if you come to Pokyello and want to do a concert in the Library, let me know and we'll have a pianer for your accompanist to play while you play the accordeen or bagpipes or both at onct.

Is it all clear now?

Good.

Might just as well save some money for new almanaks or Field and Streams and get a good used accordeen instead like Queen Carol sez and really give them something to be shooshing you about then!

Down in the Test Wexas town of Pel Aso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
Her name was Rosa, she worked the cantinas
On a really dull night she might give me a whirl.

Oh, good! Mother's all cheered up now. You can tell by the retching.

Well, I think "fast repetition for the most intricate piece of music" is important also, as well as heavy use over years of fortissimo passages. I know what you mean about those fortissimo passages, not childbirth but whatever may be my gender's equivalent, such as being hit by a car or walking barefoot from Kokomo to Anchorage, you know. Very fortissimo. I think I like the intricate with fast repetition part better. No question you have to be spruce as hell for that stuff.

I like this bit:

    Spruce Keys
Yamaha uses Spruce for the keys on all models of pianos. Spruce is very light and possesses a very high ratio of strength to weight. It is ideal for key construction, even though its cost is greater than either sugar pine or bass wood. Yamaha keyboards respond quickly providing fast repetition for the most intricate piece of music. Yamaha keyboards withstand heavy use over years of fortissimo passages.

Now how many things can you say "withstand heavy use over years of fortissimo passages" about? For example, I consider childbirth a "fortissimo passage" of the first magnitude. But I can't say I could "withstand heavy use over many years." Now that's some guarantee! That fast repetition part, well, I might be able to match that. But this is indeed a superior guarantee! (Let's see if Little Hawk can show Shatner offering something like it!) :)

The one we have our eye on is similar to this one. The local dealer (from whom we've been borrowing a piano when we needed one) will give us a Good Deal on a brand-new last year's model.

AND we can easily move it, because you can get a wheeled cart for it (which we will).

Maybe one of those end-of-the-school-year piano sales might have something good for the library. The really good ones are very expensive, but you should be able to find something modest that works. We're lobbying the director of our university library for a piano, but so far he has resisted the idea. I've been listening lately to the department secretary make the arrangements to have a grand piano delivered for a holiday concert--up the freight elevator, sans legs, set up, and tuned. What a lot of work!

You could buy a really nice accordion with 4,295, Rapaire. You can't buy much af a piano with that kind of money. And you could be the first public lawberry in Idaho to have its very own piano accordion. All the others will be jealous and ashamed that they didn't think of it first.

Some guys would say things like "I'd sure like to put the squeeze on her!" and the more daring would shout "Hey, baby! Can I finger your keys?" or "We could make beautiful music together!"

The last were summarily beaten unconscious, since the sentiment was a) trite and b) impossible on the face of it.

But enough of my rather sordid past; I have good news to share!

Yesterday we received word that the Library has been awarded a grant of $4,295, which, combined with the money we have, will permit us to purchase a decent piano! Now we won't have to borrow one when we have musical programs! (I was holding out for a Scandali Cromo L, since I felt it would be more in touch with the community.)

Well, now that the MIBs will be visiting MMario, remember that you did NOT learn this from me.

You might get some inkling of what is going on by looking here and, of course, what we call "The Zipper."

Please, though, remember this song:

CHO: Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you-know-what.
For if you-know-who should hear ya, you know what you'd get
They take you all to you-know-where for you-wouldn't-know-how-long,
So for you-know-whose sake don't let anyone hear you singing this song.

You all know what I'm speaking of when I mention you-know-what,
And I fear it's very dangerous to even mention that.
For the other ones are always near, although you may not see,
And if anyone asks who told you that, please don't mention me. CHO.

You all know who I'm speaking of, when I mention you-know-who,
For if you-know-who should hear you, you know what he'd do.
So if you don't see me again, you'll know why I'm away,
And if anyone asks you where I've gone, here's what you must say: CHO.

Wel,l that's enough about so-and-so, not to mention such-and-such,
And I better end my song now. I've already said too much.
Well, the less you say, the less you hear, and the less you'll go astray,
And the less you think, the less you do, and the more you'll hear them say: CHO.

CarolC - I believe Rapaire is part of the super-sekret operation that is the government counter-offensive to the Dutch/Manatee conspiracy - most of their operatives have been relocated to Idaho - as it will become the shoreline (and thus neatly located for Naval operations) once the world conspiracy to raise ocean levels is complete.

of course there is a very faint possibility I am wrong.
