Everything dental involves a root canal, the more expensive the better.

The crown put on my lower left back molar was a horrible experience over the summer. Lots of mouth pain, still not completely resolved. And did I tell you that when the permanent crown came in and they could replace the temporary crown that they apparently kept the new one in the deep freeze? Dropped it into place and sent me through the roof.

I pulled my dentist aside and told him that the young woman who worked on that tooth last summer was too rough. I have a high pain threshold, but she way exceeded it, even with a local, and furthermore, she was rough when it was just me but changed her demeanor when he was in the room. I told him that I have a very short list of medical professionals I won't work with, but she's on it, so no more work with her in the future. The other person is one of the optometrists at the place I go - she has messed up the vision Rx of both myself and my ex, and when we compared notes we realized there is a pattern to avoid. So that's it - those two I refuse to deal with.

Update. The freezing has come out. I shant bore youse with any long description. In a nutshell, FUCK IT HURTS!

But, short term pain for long term gain is cool. I asked Howie what he would do. He said he'd take the "new metal" crown as it's tougher and cheaper than gold. I agreed. Besides, I can't see the rear most molar without a flashlight and a mirror so why would I give two flyin fucks from Tuesday what it looks like?

Did I mention it FUCKIN HURTS?

Here is the worst part. It (bottom jaw) does not hurt as much as the upper companion. The upper molar was subject to the vibration of the drill when contacted while he was working on the lower jaw molar because the space to work was so tight. I wonder how he will react when I tell him that in a few weeks when the crown goes in. Docs sometimes don't believe me.

That machine looks other-worldly, Amos. It did the trick, you say?

My chronic lower back agony has been resolved by a series of applications of spinal decompression using the DRX 9100 machine. Almost miraculous considering the disc bulge revealed by an MRI. Now if we could do something to resolve the anterior midsection bulge similarly!

Thanks!

MOM wants to know if everyone is hale and hearty these days? Are all injuries healing?

Stilly is quite capable of crossing her own legs, I am sure. But I, too, am rooting for her.

God bless the language users, the book finders, the word mongers, the bold poets new and all and old and all, the trippers of the tongue and the players by pen. God bless the postcard writers, the fountain penners, the sweet note senders and the wry word-benders. God bless those who celebrate, accelerate and demonstrate the soul of tongues.

Amen

AHJ

So cross yer legs. That'll work. Makes it hard to walk and to go to the bathroom but those aren't my problems. Keep 'em crossed for Stilly!

I got the entire Idaho Legion to cross their legs for her. It's hard after all that beer, too.

I hurried home and finished filing my info to apply for a new job. For some reason the password wasn't working on my work computer. I ended up with a new account and turned it in. I'm the same person, just using a home email instead of one from work. Whatever it takes to get through that door for consideration.

Well, Premiers are trash too, many times. We in NB.ca just turfed out the PCs led by a Premier of epic trash proportions and now have one who is, in mere weeks, is vying for the for the flip-flop title : There WILL be a moratorium! Ahhhh, there WILL be a regional moratorium... THAAAAAT'S what I meant before the election.

I knew some very irritated Canucks once. They went so far as to say naughty words about their government. One said, "I hope that that piece of soil who is our Premier goes to heck!"

I hope that you'll pardon the language but we're mostly adults here.

Re : Garbage collection time changes

Sir :

I see I am on "day pickup" for garbage collection soon.

What are the provisions for the City of Moncton to keep crows and seagulls from picking garbage apart and spreading it around prior to pickup in daylight hours during the winter?

Thank you for your time and for your effort in this regard.

Sincerely,

Gary J. Owens, M.Sc.Eng, P.Eng.
55 Leeside Drive
Moncton, NB

I tell yas, when we Canucks lose our tempers, the situation gets ugly really fast.

SCUSE me? Garbage day is being changed to WednesDAY? DAY? DAY? Garbage out by 8AM? 8AM???? Just WTF is the City of Moncton gonna do to keep the seagulls and the crows from ripping my garbage to pieces and strewing it all over the road? We had night pickup for a reason you ignorant city council assholes.

Never mind the rape of the earth by big oil or the rape of the opium trade by big pharma or ad infinitum. Fuck with my garbage and THAT is where I draw the line!!!!!!!!!!

Trick or Treating is better than, say, shoving a cheap handgun into someone's face and saying, "GIMME CANDY!"

Well we went off to the theater and avoided the whole issue, I think not attending Trick or Treat is a good solution, much more ethical than, say, not voting.

It's quiet lately - is everyone sleeping off the rush of sugar from the leftover Halloween candy? I didn't do trick or treat here, but they had cakes and pies at work on Friday, so I got a dose. No one came around the neighborhood this year, just as well since the dogs were out in the back yard (I got home late). Neighbors later told me that no one came by. I think the attraction of a "fair" down at the fire hall keeps most of the traffic out of our wooded neighborhood full of tripping hazards.

We are threatened here in Paradise by gray clouds and the concept of moisture falling right down out of the sky. This is highly unusual, and we fear our status as Desiccated Desert Land of No Use to Anybody Sane might be revoked, attracting hordes of outland busybodies to our pleasant land. On the other hand, our reservoirs could use the boost.

That is good news! Today on the Diane Rehm show they were talking about bikes and safety, mostly in the context of bikes on streets and in traffic. I sent a note about the problem of bikes on sidewalks, and though there was an offhand remark or two about bikes and pedestrians, they didn't actually discuss that particular problem. Too bad.

Tippet? I hope that is a typo, good sir.

Doorbell rang. That butt fuckin ugly fleece throw I got for Kissmeass last year fetched $10. Good riddance says I. Come on Kijiji! Daddy needs a new case of ale! Maybe I should just ask my relatives for beer for Kissmeass. Save me the time and effort. At least the throw was marketable whereas most of the crap I get goes to the Red Cross. The woman that bought it said it will be great to cover her son's pillows as that is where the dogs like to sleep and he can't stand the hair they shed. I say her dogs are not fussy what they sleep on.

Now, if only someone would buy the comforter with the deer 'pics' on it. WTF were they thinking... except that they found something at a great price because nobody else would ever buy it? Cheap bastards! Besides, I am a man. I don't do comforters unless they are warm blooded.
