kindaloupehachenweez is rather frugal with the visits to Mudcat, let alone home to see Mom. Only 62 show up on the count. But better a few than none!

Glad I could get through this evening to make that valuable point.

Sounds like a great menu there in Idaho, Rapaire. It's a little heavy on the salmon, but I love salmon!

Well, it turns out almost all of us are descended from an obscure Irish king. I always suspected this but couldn't put my finger on it exactly; now, SCIENCE has done that for me!!

Well, I have a Master's Degree in English! and almost a whole MA in Environmental Philosophy (have to write the thesis). None of these help Amos with his html typo:

>i>Remember! Doctor Science . . .

Remember! Doctor Science . . .

HUH! I was one credit away from a Masters - and they changed the rules and I would have had to take an additional 26 credits so I told them they had enough of my money.

They're not supposed to change the rules on students like that. If you have a catalog from the year you started the coursework, the rules in that catalog are essentially etched in stone. This is accepted practice so students who encounter such changes aren't penalized by having to take more classes. Get out that catalog and beat someone over the head with it.

Hah! I would have had a second Master's degree in English with a focus on writing except that they dropped the program! Yes! But if you put that better-that-half-the-necessary-credits with the better-than-half-the-necessary-credits from my first run at library science grad school I have two Master's degrees! (And before nasty rumors start, I dropped out of the first library school because I ran out of money. Those stories about the Dean of the Library School, three rabbits, a blonde dancer at a local dive, and me are COMPLETELY UNTRUE!!)

"Oh, Rapaire, how could you??

"You know perfectly well, the only reason you can say it is untrue is because you threw the 'three rabbits' in there. Everyone in town knew about us, and there were no rabbits involved, except the one who died n the lab.

"I know that back then, you never would have been so callous. You were so young, so handsome, so sweet and poetic, so SEXY! But it was so long ago, my memory may be unreliable; but I just know there weren't any rabbits.

"I am sorry that things turned out the way they did. James -- the Dean at Library Science? -- well, he turned out to be, um, less exciting in the clinch, if you know what I mean, than you did. It was such a shame. He left Library Science about five years ago to go work for the Republicans.

"Anyway, I hope by now your buttocks are all healed up and the scars have passed with time -- I know mine have. But I still dram aboput you sometimes, you big lug!!

"Your widdle fuzzy-wuzzy,

Bitsy"

The above letter was dropped on my desk some time between 2 and 6 AM this morning. The new floor is scuffed with the marks of stilleto heels tracking mud. I am not sure what to make of all this, so I am forwarding it to MOAB, where I am sure it will be correctly managed. Let me know if you want me to call in the police.

If you want to have fun sometime, walk into the only adult bookstore in a small city with a half-dozen other library school students -- including one who is a right fair looking blonde woman who's a native of the town. If you think rabbits and mice and roaches can scurry, you ain't never seen the denizens of an adult bookstore when they think they'll be recognized!

It wasn't the fault of the program or University - state changed the regulations - and it only really effected 3 people in the state, myself and two others - who were both underclassman and had more time to complete the requirements. they refused to grandfather me.

Just to Break even. Ya i know imformation, leads to knowledge, and knowledge is the key to power and power is the key to freedom. GOOD KARMA TO ALL! "OOMummm"

oh, well. . . I thought my play on Brokeback Mountain might have garnered a little attention. . . I'll just go back to hanging my (evidently) rather extensive art collection on the walls of my office and in the hall next to it. Don't mind me. I'll sharpen my wit on someone else. . .

Oh, I caught it. I even understood it. I suppose that I must have been the only one. I could even understand the verso and the recto, the octavo and the folio and the quarto, not to mention the duodecimo. Yes, I understood it, leaves, signatures, block and all. I felt bound to tell you so, and now that you're told the geas (or "binding") is loosened.

Just doesn't work when you have to ask. . .

Rap, what library school did you go to? A friend has written to ask me for a recommendation and his student is in northern Indiana. Seems to me you're from somewhere around there? I'll recommend U of North Texas, where many people in this region go (and they have a cooperative program with Texas Women's University in the same town). But these aren't exactly closeby for that student.

Case Western Reserve University, only it's now a joint program in Library Management between the Weatherhead School of Business and the library school at Syracuse University.

In No. Indiana, I'd check out Dominican U.'s school in Chicago (well, for all practical purposes). Or the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Indiana (although I don't think much of the dean there). Or the University of Illinois at Chambana. Kent State University is another possibility, as is Wayne State and the U. of Michigan. Lots of good schools within a fairly easy drive, and if you want to look farther afield, the U. of Kentucky has one.

There are also "distance learning" grad courses, too. The U. of Illinois has one, as does the U. of Washington and Emporia State in Kansas.

These are what come immediately to mind.

Were I in the situation, I'd check Dominican first and the U. of Illinois next, then the U. of Michigan.

Good morning, everyone! I hope that your day is pleasant and filled with love and sunshine and joy! Isn't it wonderful to be alive? To hear the butterflies singing and the birds flitting from flower to nectar-filled flower? Puppies and kittens are playing peacefully together chasing balls of yarn and soon they'll cuddle up in a big heap suitable for a calendar picture! The sky is the bluest blue ever and the peaks of the mountains are tickling the clouds' tummies while Mr. Sun beams smiling down, warming everything below. Tonight Ms. Moon will spread silver smiles over all the world and the stars will twinkle in the heavens while sleepyheads everywhere snuggle down in their big warm quilts, content and dreaming wonderful dreams before they awaken refreshed and full of energy for the new day. Tomorrow Mr. Sun will peek over the Bannock Range again and fill the Portneuf Valley with his golden sunshine and I will trudge off to meet with the Mayor, thinking of the oral surgery I have to consult with the oral surgeon about today.

Gremlins amidst the gladiolas. Sasquatch stomping the snowdrops. Orcs in the osage orange. Piskies in the pyrocantha. Boggarts 'midst the bleeding hearts. Leperchauns frolicing in the lilies. Pookahs in the petunias. Brownies bounding in the broom. Banshees in the bogainvillea. Every since that one time in college. Just once, and I didn't even inhale even though we were all in graduate school, if you know what I mean. Oh look! Dan Quayle!!

Librarians work. I'm a library Director. I go to meetings, schmooze with politicians, surf the Internet, and do other disgusting things that allow me to avoid actual labor. And I'm not ashamed of it! No! There is no guilt attached to my job! None! Just because I get to do all these neat things and have all these wonderful perks doesn't mean that I've gone over to the Dark Side. Not at all. Except for the horns, the scales, the tail, the poison-dripping fangs, and the talons I'm the same sweet, lovable, guy I always have been.

well if your spine is nothing but a strand of gelatinized starch no wonder you have a poison-drooping tail. Nothing to support it! Probably why your skin has gone all scaly, too; It's like laying roofing tiles or shingles , without a proper foundation nothing is going to come out right.
