Amos is a conundrum indeed. He is too old to be a subject of tri chromosomal cloning experiments and too young to have emerged from the future breakthroughs in Transporting and Time Reversing Light via Atomic Matter Coherence Science, or TTRLAMCS for short.

Yes, loading a bunch of Microsoft products will destroy a computer, but only mentally, not physically. They will only make a computer bipolar, schizophrenic and, ultimately, brain-dead. They will not cause a computer to immerse itself in a vat of boiling sulphuric acid. Thy can, however, make computer users want to immerse themselves in vats of boiling sulphuric acid.

Was Amos put into cold storage for 15-20 years after separation from Ocsar?

Good suggestion about the computer. BWL, I'd check to see if it floats, while you're at it.

Just load it up with Microsoft products and DLLs and it will destroy itself.

Hi, Mom! Got a new laptop. Pretty amazing what ya can get for $200 USD nowadays.

Now I get the joyful experience of destroying the old one. Should I shoot it? If so, would it be best to use a 12 gauge rifled slug and do the deed in one fell swoop? How about a couple of rounds from a 9mm or .38? Or maybe a slow death by plinking at it with .22 LRs or 28 gauge skeet rounds? I don't suppose you'd have an Uzi I could borrow....

I think that it's no mere coincidence that "Oscar" and "Amos" both contain the letters "A" and "S" and "O". I think that they might have been twins: the first, and older by a couple of minutes or so, named "Amos" (four letters) and the younger, second, twin named "Oscar" (five letters). They were probably separated very shortly after birth and adopted by two families, one on the East coast and one in the tumultuous prairies of Manitoba. It should come as no surprise that Amos is fluent in both Yiddish and Hebrew and that Oscar was adopted by a Jewish family.

Yes, separated by the legal system of the time, slowly they were moving back together. And now they are apart until that great curtain call Up Yonder.

It's probably too late for genetic testing, but you can't help wondering what it would reveal.

I met Oscar a couple of times - he was a handsome man (and what a voice!)

Trying to make the Patriots great again, huh?

Now, listen closely. This is important. Have you noticed the similarities between the unfortunately late Oscar Brand and
Amos? Is Amos hiding something? Was Oscar?

Patriots hat. Check. Patriots t-shirt. Check. Patriots jersey. Check. Patriots hoodie. Check. Patriots mug. Dog damned piece of crap cracked on me. A&W mug. Check. Football slippers. Check. Then again, they did give me the hat. Nah, just being paranoid. Beer. Check. Wings. Check. Okay then. I am ready for some FOOTBAL!

I looked at those when I was computer shopping the first time out - but instead chose an Eagle 8088. Two floppy drives, no hard drive. A box of 10 floppy drives cost $50. The entire system came in just under $5000.

If you wish to really annoy yourself, get a tablet. Almost big enough to do real things on, but without a keyboard. An iPad is just a fancied up tablet. But I suggest that you delve into your savings and if you need a laptop get a good laptop.

Hi,Mom! I apologize for not posting recently. My laptop is giving up the ghost in fits and starts and I cannot abide using my smartphone for Internet surfing. Said laptop is currently in the midst of a start (instead of a fit) and has generously agreed to stay up and running long enough for me to post this message. I fear that I must soon away to the dreaded electronics purveyor....

I have ventured far, sung much, and wondered more on the many things that are in the world. Not the least of which is the singing voice of the Man of Emmes, who had the Girls of the Peace Cabynne eating from his hand with the power of his song, if you see what I mean.

It was a smashing good Getawaye, over too soon and too riche in myriad wondres that surpasseth Alle Understanding. Notwithstanding we, howevere shorte in understanding, would have it remain or return, and that righte Soone.

Red Rose Tea is a beverage company established by Theodore Harding Estabrooks in 1894 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. It is considered an iconic part of Canadian culture and many consumers have a strong emotional attachment to the brand. Its orange pekoe tea is said to be made from only the top two leaves of each tea plant sprig, thus ensuring the best quality.

Red Rose's old commercials introduced the catchphrase, "Only in Canada, you say? Pity..." (The catchphrase was transformed by Canadian popular culture to, "Only in Canada, eh? Pity...") Another slogan was "Red Rose Tea is Good Tea."

Red Rose brand tea has been available in the United States since the 1920s, but it is a different blend of black pekoe and cut black teas compared to the orange pekoe sold in Canada.

The brand is now owned by Redco Foods in the United States and by Unilever in Canada. The brand was formerly owned by Brooke Bond Foods of the UK.

Unilever... says so on the box.

Now, on the page from which you quoted...

"OUR HISTORY

When Theodore Estabrooks founded Red Rose in the 1890s, tea was sold loose from tea chests and its quality was wildly inconsistent. Recognizing that tea drinkers deserved something better, he dedicated himself to producing a quality blended tea that was consistent from cup to cup. For over 100 years, we've kept that promise. We're committed to providing you with a perfectly balanced, great-tasting tea."

Unilever of Toronto, huh? Unilever has, among other brands, Marmite, Ben & Jerry's, and Lyons Tea.

But no Red Rose. However, the Red Rose Tea website states:

Redco Foods is owned by Teekanne GmbH of Dusseldorf, Germany. 'Teekanne,' which means "Tea Pot," is the premiere brand of specialty herbal and fruit teas in Europe. Inventors of the flow-through tea bag, the majority of tea bags sold in the United States over the last thirty years have been manufactured using Teekanne equipment.

Also, it's made in Little Falls, New York -- and apparently always has been.

I posted this on facebook a few days ago:
Researching the tea I bought today (same brand, but it was B.O.P., not F.B.O.P., like the last tin, and the leaves are broken into much smaller bits). After reading through all of the categories on the Wikipedia page, I found the quip: "A joke among tea aficionados is that "FTGFOP" stands for "Far Too Good For Ordinary People."

I was strolling through Sobeys today and spied a display of Red Rose Tea, picked up a box and read, under licence by Unilver of Toronto. It may have been started in Saint John, New Brunswick but it was blended in Uppity Canada when I was a boy and I assume it still is today. No matter, King Cole by Barbour's is blended in Sussex, NB. I recall the old man always packing a box of King Cole Tea whenever we went on vacation up-along.

Now Chongo Chimp has changed his/her moniker to "Chongou" in a Chinese angle as a fakealoo to avoid being hit by Chicago lightning. I found out that a torpedo named Big Johnny, a real gorilla, was hired to take that chimp out and whatever CC is now called has shaking gams from from being caught working both sides of the street. Big Johnny got the contract from the Northside Apes with orders to "make it messy" so BJ's gonna use a load of double ought from a sawed off 8 gauge. Better than a pair of concrete overshoes, maybe. There are bigger in NB but few and far between since the forestry devastation here continues at an accelerating pace (global swarming big time). Families that rely on harvesting game are hard put and the only ones that benefit from the destruction of The Acadian Forest are big corporations that don't even pay taxes in Canada.

Mom! Listen! I have a plan that will solve the economic problems of everybody in the whole world! All of them! It's so simple! Just divorce Brad Pitt and get a gazillion dollar settlement!

So far, only one other person's figured it out, and she's going to get her share, but why should she be the only one? I'm going to file papers tomorrow!

Now, I have to decide whether to outfit the Bertram 42 I'll be buying with a vintage mahogany fighting chair or a modern high-tech one.

Steeped rat crap... that'll wake ya up in the AM. I saw something this AM that stopped me dead in my tracks. I picked up a box of Tim Horton's Steeped Tea. Not a word of lie. $9.99 ($10.00 as we Canucks don't use pennies any more) for 12 bags (I forget what was on the box but they meant bags). Steeped Tea. Never heard of that in my life... all tea is steeped... that's how one make tea. One steeps it. I buy 240 King Cole tea bags for $7 to $8 when it's on sale.

The mooze pics are rollin' in in a FB group of which I am a member. Nothing from my buddy yet. Hellish warm fer moosin' but down to 10C tonight so I have me fingers crossed and the old cast iron is ready ta go.

Old King Cole. Since the tea sits around the warehouse before being processed, usually for a year or more, OLD is the correct word. It's the rat leavings that give it its peculiar flavour and odour. (NB: Canadian spellings.)
