Druther have moles than potatoes. Potatoes are causing Idaho to collapse and within twenty or thirty years it will be below sea level if the current rate of potato production continues.

And don't get me started on sugarbeets.

I am acutely aware of your qualifications, good Sir; they have manifested like moles in soft earth, the length and breadth of Mom's garden, in this thread. Withal, you are a good man at heart and do not know your own evil; so you are forgiven and we shall stumble on, ever alert, ever cleaning up, ever putting right.. This shall we do for our Mom.

Well, I'm well qualified to do both. I will point out that...no, I'd better not point that one out. Or that one, either. I guess that you'll just have to take my word for it. In fact, you'll have take my word for it, for I used to work for a Top Secret Government Agency and they will deny all knowledge of my existence if you call them. In fact they will deny all knowledge of their own existence, it's that secret. So take my word about my qualifications and you won't be visited by men wearing sunglasses and shoulder holsters, or at least not by men from the government wearing sunglasses and shoulder holsters. What you do on your own time is none of my affair.

It was back in two thousand four,
I was part of a good platoon.
We were on maneuvers in Mudcat land,
One night by the light of the moon.
Khandu had started a little thread,
And that's how it all begun.
We were knee deep in the Big MOAB,
But the big fool said to move on.

The Tweed said, "Sir, are you sure,
This is the best way back to the Caf'?"
"Tweed, go on; for I am the King
And got jurisdiction over this place
It'll be a little sloppy but just keep slogging.
We'll soon reach a thousand or so."
We were waist deep in the Big MOAB
And the big fool said to push on.

Then Amos said, "With all this BS
No one'll be able to swim."
"Amos, don't be a nervous nellie."
King Khandu said to him.
"All we need is a little determination;
Follow me, I'll lead on."
We were neck deep in the Big MOAB
And the big fool said to push on.

All of a sudden, the moon clouded over,
We heard a gurgling cry.
A few seconds later, King Khandu's crown
Was all that floated by.
Tweed then said, "Push on, brave men,
I'm in charge from now on."
And we never made it out of the Big MOAB
Tho' our King was dead and gone.

We stripped and dived and found his body
Stuck in the old manure heap.
I guess he didn't know that the BS was deeper
Than the place he'd once before been.
Lots more had joined the Big MOAB
Since Khandu had been where he'd been.
And we've never escaped from the Big MOAB
And like damn fools we still push on.

Mornin' Mom. Sorry I don't have breakfast for you, but I'm still pretty rocky from that little bout with illness over the weekend.

There's some bread on the counter and butter in the fridge, and you know were the tea is kept.

For starters, let's get the physics straight about shear, turbulence, and other patterned vectors of air at jet altitudes. That'll put 98.9 per cent of it to bed right there.

It looks like it has decided to go back to January rather than behaving like March around here. Too bad. The warm weather was very nice after several quite uncomfortable days of frozen dog water dishes and a heater on in the garage at night for the pooches.

btw the Chem trails began at 6AM today. They went from horizon to horizon instead of 5 mile dashes that never disipate and only gradually expand opaque over 2 hours.

Sir:

Your innuendo is pathetic
And your scansion diuretic,
Claiming there exists some tome
From which I took my little poem!

Every tired, sore quatrain
Is the offspring of my brain.
Though you may talk like a sceptic
You've a history badly kleptic,

Lifting lines and nabbing verse,
Changing lines to make them worse,
Stelaing language from your neighbor,
Hiding authors of the labor

And presenting as the maker
Work of which you are the faker!
Therefore, fie!! Endure rejection!
Your snide remarks are all projection!

From an oak-limb may you twist,
Double-tonguéd plagiarist!
Leave me to my silly lines,
Which, at least, I know are mine!

COme my brothers -- who cares what
Is the Ego of a Nut?
You are here, and so am I,
Filled with life and keen of eye,
And while bright, and so alive,
We should brightly post times five!
Why should we? You grumbly say!
And I reply, "For Half a K".
Stumble onward, write and strive,
Onward for the next of five!!
Half a K will quickly loom
In our mother's parlor room.
Drink your tea, enjoy your chatting.
Later, we can go out catting.

Why Rapaire!
I am surprised that you feel that what kind of nut one is shouldn't matter. After all, an Almond is nothing but a peach pit with delusions of grandeur.

Hazelnuts/filberts are difficult to crack - but survive the shattering of their shell quite well - and are subtle.

walnuts are very difficult to get to come forth from their shells - and rarely survive the experience intact. (the trauma!)

and the peanut is nothing but an imposter! A legume masquerade!

Kind of a nut? Does it matter and if so, why? Do you think that pecans or hazelnuts somehow rank above walnuts or almonds? Are you looking for status, to verify your miserable and putrid existence with shoddy status symbols? For shame! You should rejoice in being a nut and accept yourself for what you are, not what you would like to be.

Two monks were walking down a road and the youngest turned to the oldest and said, "Oh Master! Where are we going and what will we do when we get there?" And the older monk listened and then turned to the side of the road and sat upon a stone. The younger monk sat at the Master's feet and the Master said, "Look, kid. We're damned near broke and we can do this Zen bit about twice more before they run us outa town. Now shut the hell up and keep walking." And the young monk said, "Oh Master! Why can we not ride an ass or a camel?" and the older monk replied, "I told ya, punk. We're broke."

Nuts? We're nuts? That would explain this shell I find myself in.

Now - If I am a nut, what kind of nut am I?
