Subject: Selling my baby From: John MacKenzie Date: 07 May 03 - 01:33 PM After a long time thinking about it, I've decided to sell my 1950s Epiphone Serenader 12 string, FT28 [I think] She's looking her age now, and the varnish is crazed, the action is not what it was either. She needs the attentions of a luthier to tidy her up, but she still sounds AOK, and will make a good axe for somebody, or would go well in somebodys collection. That's it straight from the hosse's mouth. What do you think I should ask for her? Slainthe......Giok |

Subject: RE: Selling my baby From: Wesley S Date: 07 May 03 - 01:53 PM Keep her - you wouldn't get rid of your wife because she was looking her age would you ? Or just because she was "crazed" ? Hmmm... On second thought - my action isn't what it used to be either. Do you like the sound ? Or is this a plan to upgrade to something better ? |

Subject: RE: Selling my baby From: Clinton Hammond Date: 07 May 03 - 02:50 PM Decide on a minimum price that you'd let IT go for, and post it on Ebay with that as your 'reserve price' If ya don't get it, your reserve MIGHT be too high... |

Subject: RE: Selling my baby From: John MacKenzie Date: 08 May 03 - 02:07 PM Well she just sits in her case, and don't get a lot of work since I bought my D28, and I've got a 5 string banjo waiting for me to learn to play it. I've also got 2 autoharps to cannibalise, and turn into one autoharp. I don't play anywhere except at home now. Giok |
