Jimmy Rankin blows me away!

This is the Hour. Possibly the most beautiful song I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. Wonderfuly easy to play as well. Anyone have lyrics?

Say what you like about the ethics of stealing music online, this is an artist we need to support buy purchasing his music.

Barry

THIS IS THE HOUR
by Jimmy Rankin

Rain was fallin hard on the prairie
Stretchin' out as far as eyes can see
There was a freight train riding low
Low as you can go
Crossin through the mountains to BC

We left home back east, a friend and me
hopped on what they called a harvest line
We were heading for the west
hopin for the best
fate took him in a Beaut, Montana mine

***Chorus***
Send me all your love in a letter
Gimme all the news from the coast
These are troubled times you see
Don't turn your back on me
This is the hour that I need
The most

You didn't get the money I sent to you
It was in a note i mailed to you last fall
Do you think the old man ever misses me
does he even think of me at all

***Chorus***

Some of them left for the money
Some of them ran from the cold
Some of thenm were chasing down dreams that they had
Other were simply running

Rain was fallin hard on the prairie
Stretchin' out as far as eyes can see
There was a freight train riding low
Low as you can go
Crossin through the mountains to BC

***Chorus***

The town in Montana is Butte, pronounced same as "beaut." (Just a note for the linguistically/geographically pedantic, and those including to search for referecnes on a map.)

Anyone have a link for this artist/tune?

I'll add this one, "just because..."
Rankins

and this one...
More Rankins

I don't hear Jimmy's stuff here in Michigan (I get Canadian radio stations), the way I used to hear the family's. I may have to seek it out & give it a listen!

doesn't the family play together any more?
I had heard of them but never got around to listening.
I've heard they're good, though.
